Hospital pharmacist in SEQ (Kabi Kabi land) with a passion for emergency medicine, education & improving access to pharmacy care, both home and abroad. she/her
@nph_pharmD I've never used anything but that for first line anaphylaxis treatment! ~2 doses IM before IV comes into the picture. (Context- Australian ED Pharmacist)
This systematic review included 30 studies with varied settings. Overall, pharmacist involvement is beneficial for initiating time critical meds, ⬆️med appropriateness, and ⬆️guideline adherence. It was underpowered to ID patient oriented outcomes like mortality or LOS. #EMRx
I argue that all medication use in the ED is by definition high risk, given the undifferentiated nature of our patients, and the fact that we are working with evolving information. Great work by @CristinaGhijben as usual
Logged in from home to the Toxicology Symposium @MetSthHealth . Just finished the session on ECG in Tox from @KIsoardi - as a pharmacist I love hearing about debunking the QT hype! 🙏🏻
I am so privileged to work with ED nurses, and am always blown away by their kindness, humour, knowledge and the care they provide under huge demands. Thank you for all you do ❤️
New guidelines for drug handling in anaesthesia @Assoc_Anaes.
Nice inclusion of responsibilities of anaesthetist (including those with particular needs), department, pharmacy, hospital.

As we introduce new/intern #pharmacists to #emergency and #resus this is a great resource to have to help you support them. Also never hurts to add to the tools you use to look after yourself and the more seasoned ppl of your team
Agree with this so much! As pharmacists we are trained to be perfectionists, and constantly on the lookout for mistakes.
So making imperfect sewing, dodgy knitting etc is my way of countering that.
Plus, if I monetized any of it, I'd have to find a new hobby. 🧐
Prehospital Tranexamic Acid for Severe Trauma - Congrats to @Biswadev_M @RussellGruen A well conducted study, despite a challenging environment, results require careful consideration.@acemonline @EmergEdu @the_shpa https://t.co/fVx75DqByI
'No one wins when healthcare workers turn on each other.'
A wonderful article by Ranjana Srivastava @DocRanjana tells us why we shouldn't believe the hype - 'Doctors and pharmacists are not at each other's throats all over Australia.'
