@murphyapbio Not only that, but thylakoids are the sites of light absorption in photosynthesis!

[Chloroplast 7 @chloropower]

@murphyapbio The thylakoid membrane is home to chlorophyll and different protein complexes, including ATP, being key to photosynthesis!

@murphyapbio The stroma, found in the chloroplast, is where the light independent reactions of photosynthesis are carried out

@murphyapbio Chlorophyll is a pigment which absorbs red and blue light, then reflecting green light.

[Chloroplast 7 @chloropower]

@murphyapbio Why are plants green, you may ask.. that's thanks to chlorophyll- found in our thylakoid membranes.

@murphyapbio It's important not to forgot about our other plastids, chloroplasts are just one of the few other plant organelles that-

@gr8wall_Eukarya @murphyapbio fortunately, we have a high class security system called the double membrane #checkyoselfbeforeuwreckurself

[Chloroplast 7 @chloropower]

might not be apart endomembrane but we do have thylakoids! which is where ATP is made for all cells ! #wematterandsodoesATP @murphyapbio

[Chloroplast 7 @chloropower]

Chloroplasts are semi-autonomous organelles , meaning they aren't involved in the endomembrane system.. @murphyapbio
