@DegreeGrading 2/2. You spend so much money on advertising and apparently very little on customer support. I’ve told all my collecting friends about you, and spoke so highly of whom I thought could be the next big grading company. Such a disappointment.
@DegreeGrading my order was received 10/1. Prepaid. No movement since. I’ve sent emails and can get no support or assistance with this. My first 5 for 50 order experience was great, you’ve completely done a 180 on me and destroyed the reputation I had for you in my head. 1/2
Here we go. We're live with the trailer to The Songwriter podcast.
See clips from Season 1. We filmed all of the first season's episodes at @LaurelCoveFest with many of the artists who were on those stages, so you know they're killer guests.
I am super proud of our work here, and the conversations @Hillier5Rob had with these artists.
The show goes live next week, so go ahead and follow on YouTube, Apple or Spotify.
Do not listen to the haters complaining about the Laurel Cove Music Festival. It's grounded in spite, not truth.
And as I've told my friends who volunteer to make this the best festival in the country, when people love something enough to be mad for missing out, you're doing something right.
No, you can't just hop in and get Cove tickets anymore.
But being mad about that is the equivalent of being mad at your favorite artist for "making it" and finally getting paid.
It's spite, jealousy and anger.
This festival has consistently had amazing talent before the rest of the world knew about them.
That list includes but is not limited to:
• The Red Clay Strays
• Wyatt Flores
• Sierra Ferrell
• Charles Wesley Godwin
• John R Miller
• Lost Dog Street Band
• Nicholas Jamerson
• Cole Chaney
• Drayton Farley
• Nolan Taylor
And so many more.
And guess what? People are going to freak out again when they see who is headlining in 2025. (For real.)
I would fight a drunk bear with pillows tied to my hands to get into this festival because they've built the best experience in music.
Is it perfect? No.
But what it is:
• Run by just a few full-time employees. 99% of the magic happens with their volunteers.
• Booking bands who are willing to take pay cuts to even be there because the culture of the festival has become legendary.
• Truly the most kind crowd I've ever seen. I've never seen a confrontation and I've been to every Cove but the first one, which wasn't even at the Cove amphitheater due to weather.
• Supported by sponsors who don't even care about the ROI—they're invested in the community and the magic.
• A festival free of all of the futile, absolutely stupid rules that we see with all of the other festivals. They trust the fans—and the fans don't do stupid sh¡t. It's honestly amazing. Every year I can't believe this exists. (OK, they did storm the pond which was dumb but truly one of the coolest things I've seen happen at a show).
And this list goes on.
I'm good friends with the people who run this.
Talking smack about the event feels personal to me.
The truth is, none of the people hating know what Jon, Blake, Shane, Partin, Chris, Emily or any of the dozen other VOLUNTEERS go through to do this.
Corporations spend millions trying to create what this crew has done with a dime store budget.
And they did it on top of a mountain, where the logistics are an absolute nightmare (watching them load in hundreds of thousands of dollars in gear over mountainous terrain over the 2 days is entertainment in itself).
I did a small festival once, and holy sh¡t, it's so much work. (And actually, Jon Grace was my biggest mentor through that experience).
I just had to say something. I've seen some of the stuff being said on Facebook. I've seen a few complaints here.
And yeah, it would really suck to miss it if you didn't get tickets.
But don't take that out on this crew. They build something that tens of thousands of people want to be a part of.
And they have 1,500 spots.
It's gotten to a point where we're all lucky to be there.
And I'm really proud to have that in my home county, built by my best friend and some of the best people I know.
TLDR: Don't listen to the haters. Laurel Cove is as good as it gets.
Never forget how we got here:
In 2018, the Association of American Railroads spent $4,737,989, and Norfolk Southern spent $1,025,330, lobbying to reverse the Obama-era ECP brake safety rule that was designed to prevent disasters like this.
The Trump administration reversed it.
@YahooSmBusiness really disgusting practices and utterly disappointing Customer Support. Yahoo Small Business fails to provide services to the level they advertise and then can’t refund an in-wanted auto-renewal!? Who does that?!?
