This is something I think about all the time

Menu prices have skyrocketed 31% since 2020. Restaurant inflation far outpaced grocery prices, making dining out feel like a worse deal

Many restaurants switched to corporate supply chains and ultra-processed ingredients to prioritize shelf life and profit over taste

This has been driven in part by private equity firms taking over so many popular chain restaurants and wanting to drive down costs and increase profits

Places like Restaurant Depo and Sysco provide the food for hundreds of thousands of restaurants and much is ultra processed and low quality. This leads to the same low quality food in the majority of locations we go to
