Missionary work is soaring to new heights. We are days away from the opening of 55 new missions. This brings the total number of missions to 506. There is a total of over 87,000 full-time missionaries. And we are currently being reinforced by the first wave of 18-year-old sisters beginning their service.
In coming weeks, we will have the largest number of full-time missionaries in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
These missionaries’ first responsibility is to testify of Jesus Christ to a world that suffers without knowledge of His divine mission. They invite people across the globe to become part of His true and living Church.
I affirm my testimony of Jesus Christ and the truth of His gospel. The Holy Ghost has given me a witness of its truthfulness, and I rejoice that I can spend my life in proclaiming it.
You are not a data point. You’re a beloved child of God with moral agency and divine potential.
I invite you to join me at https://t.co/DvO30jyBlh on June 7 as we discuss how to hear God's voice in an age of artificial intelligence. You are not a data point. You’re a beloved child of God with moral agency and divine potential.
True faith is focused in and on the Lord Jesus Christ and is a principle of action, trust, and power.
As we act in accordance with the truths of the Savior’s gospel and trust in His promises, we are blessed with the spiritual capacity to “rise up” and press forward through the challenges of mortality while experiencing the joys His gospel makes possible in our lives.
If you missed it today in Sunday School or want to watch it again, President D. Todd Christofferson and Elder Quentin L. Cook hosted a discussion on religious freedom celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
What was your biggest takeaway?
In recognition of the 250-year anniversary of the founding of the United States of America as a free and independent nation, Elder Quentin L. Cook and I discussed the importance of religious liberty and its underlying significance for the restored Church of Jesus Christ.
We believe in religious liberty.
As the Eleventh Article of Faith reminds us, “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.”
Enduring to the end is linked inextricably to the spiritual gift of charity. Enduring to the end is not merely a relentless determination to grit our teeth, hold on to the limits of our physical strength and mental capacity, and push through the challenges and adversities of mortal life; it is so much more than that.
Enduring to the end is the joyous quest of a lifetime—a pressing forward with faith in Jesus Christ in a gradual process of trusting in and receiving help from our Savior to become more like Him. As our love for Him grows ever stronger and deeper, we can be blessed to receive spiritual perspective, the Lord’s empowering grace, and exceedingly great and indescribable joy.
The Savior has commanded each of us to love God and to love our neighbor. We are grateful for the faithful efforts of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who strive to fulfill this divine commandment. Their service is a witness of discipleship.
My counselors in the First Presidency and I recently visited the Church’s new humanitarian center in Salt Lake City. This facility will serve an important role in preparing and distributing emergency supplies to meet global needs.
I express appreciation for members of the Church and for all who minister in quiet and consistent ways. I testify of Jesus Christ, whose light and Spirit guide the children of God in caring for the poor and the distressed throughout the world.
May we each accept and act upon this sacred responsibility to bless the lives of all of our Father’s children.
Jesus thinks and acts out of pure love; He yearns to bless and lift others; and He delights to do the will of God. With faith in Christ, we can pray that the Holy Spirit will effect a mighty change in us to instill these same divine motivations in our hearts and help us practice the attributes of a Christlike character.
I recently met with the entire Africa West Area Presidency, which reaffirmed how grateful I am to witness the majesty of this moment of growth in the Church. Elder Kyungu is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Elder Ojediran is from Nigeria, and Elder Morrison is from Ghana.
I love these men and am inspired by the impact their leadership is having. In a recent visit, we discussed the growth of the Church in the Africa West Area, the impact BYU–Pathway is having, and the strength of the seminary program in the lives of our youth.
The same way that a ten-dollar bill given to me was turned into something with priceless value, our life can be something of eternal value through the sacrifice and Atonement of Jesus Christ.
In less than 10 minutes, Elder Tad R. Callister illustrates how Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.
“Some are willing to set aside the precious gospel truths restored by Joseph Smith because they get diverted on some historical issue or some scientific hypothesis not central to their exaltation, and in so doing they trade their spiritual birthright for a mess of pottage.”
Open-house reservations are now available online to tour the renovated San Diego California Temple. The open house goes from Thursday, June 18 to Saturday, July 11, except for Sundays. The open house includes a free walking tour through the temple. This house of the Lord has undergone extensive renovations for three years. It’ll be rededicated on Sunday, Aug. 23.
In San Antonio, Texas, Latter-day Saints and friends recently gathered for a community event to celebrate the traditions and cultures of Texas. A live DJ performed throughout the event and led a family dance. And teenagers gave a patriotic performance and a Christ-centered musical number.
I loved the #HearHim videos the Church put out a few years ago.
Listen to President Oaks (@OaksDallinH) explain how he receives impressions from the Spirit. 👇
"When you get an impression, act upon it, however unusual it seems or however inadequate you feel in following it."
Today, my counselors in the First Presidency and I were grateful for the opportunity to visit the Salt Lake Temple, which has been undergoing a significant renovation since 2020.
We look forward to welcoming people from throughout the world during the Salt Lake Temple Celebration and open house, to be held from April through October 2027.
Above all, we look forward to teaching about the sacred purposes of temples throughout the world. In the temple, faithful men and women receive divine instruction, sacred responsibilities, and spiritual power.
It is in the temple that eternal covenants are made that bind us and our families to our Heavenly Father and to one another for eternity.
Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Davao Philippines Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
“In the temple, we learn more about God’s purposes. We receive the fullness of the Holy Ghost. We receive direction in our lives. We mature in our discipleship of Jesus Christ,” Elder @DaleGRenlund said.
“Because of what we do in the temple, we gain strength to endure and prosper outside of the temple. We create greater power to resist temptation and to repent. We receive hope, comfort and strength to withstand mortality’s trials better,” the Apostle added.
The Davao temple is the fifth operating temple of the Church in the Philippines and the first on the major island of Mindanao. Two additional temples are scheduled for dedication, and eight others have been announced or are under construction.

The scaffolding on the Salt Lake Temple helped restore the temple to its original beauty with more strength. It was there to help protect the House of the Lord—evidence of love and care for something sacred.
In our lives, the Lord offers scaffolding as well. Parents, good friends, teachers, leaders, commandments, covenants, and even seasons of correction and stretching—they are there to help us gain better access to the light and life that will bring us back to our heavenly home and safely reach our eternal destination.
We rejoice in Jesus Christ because He is the master builder. His grace is sufficient to refine, restore, repair, rebuild and bless your life now and forever.
Our Savior Jesus Christ taught us how to relate to one another. The great commandments in the law, He taught, were to love—God and neighbor. (Matthew 22:37-39)
