"It's basically a bully system. 'Trust the process' is a nice way of saying 'Shut up and do what you're told'."
Strong testimony from French international Poppy McGeown in this.
Thanks for having us on @GeorgieHeath27!
Depressing, but unsurprising.
As I've pointed out before, this sort of thing is a consequence of the reliance of the ICC scorecard grant on self-reported data from member boards, which the ICC has neither the capacity nor, it seems, the inclination to verify.
Dear cricket twitter, I am blowing the conch in the spirit of Ron Burgundy, we are trying to arrange a game with a French Women's XI against an English or International XI after the despicable ghost matchs of France Cricket, to prove that Women matter in Cricket in France.
If you're wondering why few if any players within the American cricket ecosystem speak out with their names attached to criticize the state of affairs, whether currently or in the USACA era, retribution from the board like that experienced by these French women's players is why.
@GeorgieHeath27 2/2 for developing cricket in France, but there's also a lack of ethics and consideration for all the volunteers who want to help cricket emerge (and let's not talk about how women are treated...). It's incomprehensible that ICC doesn't want to help us.
@GeorgieHeath27 1/2 Do you realize how ironic this story is? Cricket is unknown in France, and we're mistreating the few players who have learned cricket in France? We have very few match opportunities, but we get blacklisted. Not only is there a real problem with the strategy
@GeorgieHeath27 It’s devastating. There is no hope or future for French women cricketers with this bunch of dictatorial incompetents from another century. Shame on ICC for never answering our calls for help. 🥺
This is how the French cricket authorities treat women's cricket and its players, especially those in the French national team. It's time for a change! I feel very sad for my sport, which I discovered late in life and which has become my passion, my second family. #cricket
New report out on cricket administration in France. The official women's national team, which has participated in several ICC tournaments, has collapsed after 17 players called for an investigation into alleged fake matches. 1/

@ANDYDB7 A provocation on the level of rude children who harass others during playtime... Not really up to the standard of an organization of adults who are supposed to be relatively professional and have the honor of managing one of the most important sports in the world. I'm so ashamed.
Celebrating women's ghost teams but punishing those who really exist and dedicate all their passion to cricket in France 🇫🇷🏏. It's a disgrace France Cricket, your methods are those of an archaic world that shouldn't exist in which you demand submission or order punishment.#shame
