Ep18 was packed with a lot of truths and unpacked a lot of issues but this is what stood out to me:

Shang Zhitao is unclear on many things.

She is unclear on how to see Luan Nian—as her boss or as her boyfriend; we've known this for a while and she now clearly admitted that. Many of their issues over the 4 years stem from this yet that's a product of their joint decision.

She is unclear on her boundaries. It's one thing to deny Luan Nian because they're still a secret but who goes out with their ex in front of their current boyfriends? Sure she never meant to get back tgt with him but did she make that clear with Luan Nian?

She is unclear on Luan Nian's feelings. Partly because of their communication—oftentimes missing (her), oftentimes wrong (him). Partly because Luan Nian comes off as this arrogant, over-secure person; she'd never imagine he has his insecurities, too, esp involving her. Partly because of her inferiority complex—she sees herself as always the inferior, insecure one in their relationship.

She's unclear on what she wants. She is introduced to the glittery idea of marriage by the jie she admires so she springs up the idea on Luan Nian out of the blue, even while they're still in the middle of a fight. Is that what she really wants? Is she really ready for them to go public and face all its repercussions on her job—the very reason she wanted it secret in the first place?

Obviously, Luan Nian has his faults—big ones at that—but this episode clearly highlights Shang Zhitao has her own, too.

Both of them have a hand in the demise of their relationship.
