SkaldMaps is a research, analysis, and rating platform for real estate investments, including primary home buyers (or renters). It lets you analyze, filter, and rank all US ZIP codes by a model you define yourself.
Today's #Map: #Florida 's #Miami urban area is heavily constrained by protected land and the Miami-Dade Urban Development Boundary (made with https://t.co/0XVuBcJbZp)
#Chicago's urban sprawl has some interesting statistical anomalies - on the census tract level, you can see both the airport and the ~70,000 acres of nature preserve in Cook County, IL.

I've made a Kubernetes that runs in the browser, and today we're open sourcing it.
The hope here is to make super interactive and visual web content about Kubernetes much easier to write, and we have a whole bunch planned this year.

#Alaska has probably some of the most fun #GIS edge cases. Today's case: Barely any ZIP code coverage. Not a https://t.co/USAr5Z8MHI bug - just a wild place.
UX improvements @ SkaldMaps - cleaner navigation and a much improved rating flow just shipped. Check out the demo, where we quickly show the rating engine to find ZIPs around Alpharetta, GA with great retail and healthcare access.

Coming soon: @SkaldMaps Data quality metrics and confidence on how reliable a given attribute is on a given geography. As you can imagine, ACS data on a tract level will be more precise than trying to map weather data to an entire county.

I've released an update to @SkaldMaps which improves the UI and fixes some data issues, based on early feedback from users: Filters, overlays, details, and more.
Check it out! https://t.co/k56Ydgwrmy

To the people making fun of me for buying a Dell R740XD with 2x Intel Xeon Gold 6248 a few years ago: I just added a 128GB RAM and 2TB NVME for only $762! Do that on your ThinkCentre!
My biggest #homelab struggle is to remember all the things I built over the years and how half of it works. @claudeai has been pretty good at reading my monorepo and all its `README.md` and other doc files.
Quantization can make an LLM 4x smaller and 2x faster, with barely any quality loss. But what *is* it? @samwhoo crafted a beautiful interactive essay explaining it from first principles, aimed at coders, not mathematicians.
