Hot take: I’d rather work with someone slightly less talented who is absolutely obsessed with winning than someone insanely talented who treats the work like another task
you can teach skills
you can't teach someone to actually give a fuck
random realization I had recently
I’ll chase a goal like my life depends on it
16 hour work days, 3-4 hours of sleep, saying no to going out because all I can think about is getting there
then I finally hit the thing I’ve been obsessing over and for like 2 days I feel completely fulfilled
then it disappears
and suddenly I’m doing the exact same thing again except now there’s a new goal
probably both a blessing and a curse
expanding your business only makes sense when the department you already built can run without you
before I move onto something new I want to know:
can the team make decisions without asking me?
does everyone know exactly what they own?
if someone leaves does the entire thing fall apart?
are there systems for the shit we do repeatedly?
can problems get solved before I even hear about them?
if I disappear for a week does everything still move?
if the answer is no then adding another department usually isn’t diversification
you’re just stacking more shit on top of something that already depends on you
I genuinely think every YouTuber should have compilation channels
you already have the content
you’re just missing another way to turn it into views + money
everything you need to know:
I think both sides of the “AI for YouTube” argument are quite stupid
you don’t NEED AI to come up with good ideas
but saying AI is useless for ideation is also stupid
the problem is most people open a brand new chat, give it zero context and expect it to immediately think like someone who’s been working with them for years
I treat my AI chats more like junior team members
at the beginning they’re honestly pretty shit
I feed them how I think, what worked, what didn’t, screenshots, examples, new learnings, feedback, everything
and over time they start understanding how I actually make decisions
I use AI for ideation, thumbnails and almost everything else now, but it’s still MY thinking behind it
AI becomes way more useful when you stop treating it like something that should magically replace your brain and start training it like someone you hired
YouTubers used to get treated like internet kids with cameras
now Netflix, Disney+ and more are trying to bring them onto their platforms
some of them are getting bigger brand deals than traditional celebrities, launching businesses that instantly get millions of eyes and building audiences that actually stick with them for years
at some point it became pretty obvious that creators aren’t below celebrities anymore
in a lot of cases they’re more valuable
this comp made $19 in its first month
then $14.3k
then $15.1k
then $19.8k
then $12.2k
and it’s already at $9k+ this month
all from content the creator had already filmed years ago
no extra filming, no extra workload for him
just turned an existing content library into another channel consistently doing 5 figures per month
YouTube always rewards the better video
we’ve had brand new channels start competing with channels that already had hundreds of thousands of subs within weeks
subscriber count can give you a head start
it can’t save shit ideas and shit packaging
reputation might be one of the most underrated growth channels in business
be really fucking good for long enough and eventually people start selling you before you even enter the room
we almost gave up on this comp
for weeks it looked like nothing was really happening and it would’ve been easy to just kill it and move on
kept testing anyway
now it’s doing $100+ days and finally starting to print
sometimes the difference is literally just staying in the game long enough for something to click
one thing I’ll never stop doing is thinking way bigger than where I’m currently at
everything I have now was something I used to think about before it was real
call it manifesting or whatever you want
I’d rather believe something insane is possible and chase it than limit myself before I even try
I genuinely think one of the biggest advantages you can have is refusing to accept “good enough”
good enough team
good enough work
good enough results
if I know something can be better I’m gonna keep pushing until it is
being satisfied too early kills growth
Client's compilation channel making $25k/m without him doing ANYTHING
Started as a brand new channel 40 days ago and now pulling crazy numbers
$20 AVERAGE RPM 💀
Here's how a compilation channel can make you extra $10k/m
1. Bringing in new audience
- you're creating 2-3 hour long videos which are catered to TV viewers which you're unlikely to reach on your main channel. This can only result to two things:
1: Get discovered by new audience who prefers watching on TV a lot
2: Current audience plays your video in the background while they're doing something else
2. Making use of old videos
- your old videos are only getting 3-5 vph weeks after uploading it, now take those videos and repackage them as a compilation video and start getting thousands of views AGAIN using videos that are supposedly dead already. The video that's supposed to be dead now could make hundreds if not thousands of dollars doing less work
3. Leverage
- having a comp channel is the biggest leverage you can have for your main channel. You've spent time and money on your videos, and even if they flop, you can take that video and upload it on your compilation channel with different packaging. You can do this for as much as you like until you find one that clicks3. Free money
4. You can keep uploading without recording
- you can just quit YouTube and just have videos uploaded daily on a separate channel which basically keeps you relevant and active despite doing less work by not being active. Good example of this is the channel we're running for FGTeeV where we upload daily while they barely upload on their main chanel
5. Free Money
- It's literally free money as you won't need to record anything new at all because you already have the videos and you just need it stitched + packaged really well. Though it may be time consuming to upload these videos daily, working with people who knows how to manage these channels will make it print without needing any of your presence for the channel
6. Money printer
- the average rpm you'll get on a comp channel is $10-$20 and sometimes more on longer videos and high rpm niche.
Hope this helps someone makes more money on YouTube
Compilation channels are so fking goated even faceless channels have them
It's a good way to leverage your videos and make use of the library you have
You've spent time & money creating your videos, why not capitalize by having them make you more than it already did?
