The Dodgers aren’t special, they aren’t “the best run organization in baseball” They have a special deal from MLB that enables them to financially cheat and spend nearly twice what any other team could

All of the breathless complimenting of the Dodgers completely ignores that the Dodgers are only able to spend like this because MLB gave them a special TV carveout after the McCourt Bankruptcy

They are the only 1 of 30 MLB teams that doesn’t have to fully share their TV revenue

They also happen to have the largest local TV contract

This is the only reason they can spend like they do

MLB created this entire situation and sees an opportunity to use it to finally try to get a cap

We don’t need a cap, all MLB needs to do is revoke this settlement and nationalize all TV Rights. Just stop giving the Dodgers the ability to cheat

Any team can be great when you have enough to spend that you can burn $110M/yr in salary and luxury tax on Kyle Tucker while he has the worst season of his career and not feel it.

They have Snell, Glasnow and half of their most expensive pitchers injured now for more of the season than they’ve been healthy and haven’t even noticed

This is all because MLB gave them a special deal on their TV rights no other team gets

Not Because Dave Roberts and Andrew Friedman are geniuses
