To play a slash chord like Bb/D, here’s a tip: If bass note is a major third (often is) play a major triad on strings 2,3,4. Blue dot is root. The major 3rd will be two frets higher on string 5. Wherever you play this shape, the blue dot is the root.

@GeoffreyArmes Yes! You can call it a minor 6th, or a sharp 5th, or a flat 6 or a raised 5. You are right also about how different the terminology can be when describing the same thing in music!

To hear Lydian mode, drone on A string while playing E Major scale on D string. (E F# G# A B C# D#) Resolve not to E but to A. A is the 4th degree of E major. So, the E major scale using A as the root = A Lydian mode.

A Lydian = A B C# D# E F# G#

F Minor Third (#9)

#9 is another way to say a minor third is played at the top of the chord. The chord has both a major and minor third in it.
