I’m so grateful for parishes, and priests, who make us feel so welcome every chaotic moment I’m there with my children. Praise God for faithful priests, and please pray for Fr.Joe.
My daughter said, “Mama, Fr. Joe (@Joeinblack)really understands the gospel where Jesus says, Let the children come to me.”
My 2yo has desperately wanted to stay with her big sis when she altar serves. I’ve had to stand out in the vestibule because of how hard it is for her. 1/
Watching my 2 yo beam with joy to sit with her siblings, and go up to the altar, and stand there quietly while watching, was so sweet. It felt so good to be close to the altar, close to the Eucharist, and not hidden away.
I’m usually juggling 4 small kids while my 2 big kids altar serve, and so we stand outside because otherwise the 2 yo just wails. Today, Fr. Joe saw her crying, and came and invited her to stay with her siblings, and come up to the altar during daily Mass.
Allow me to start your day with joy.
We do about 10 hours of confessions a week between my two parishes and there’s never a point where we don’t have people waiting.
It’s so beautiful.
These last few weeks have taken a lot out of me so this morning, we had three priests ready to help to allow me a chance to breathe this morning.
I have a very, very busy day and thought it might be nice to have an hour or two of quiet to prepare myself.
About 20 minutes after confessions started, I got a call that the line was stretched around the church. The three priests were not enough, they needed me to hustle over and help.
I waited for the battle of the flesh: the thing where internally I’m sad that I’m going to lose some rest time.
It never came. I threw my cassock on, like it was battle armor, and charged into the church with joy in my heart.
As I walked into the church, I started crying when I saw all these beautiful people willing to wait two hours or more to have their confession heard.
All four of us priests worked that line with love and mercy and joy and my heart is just so very, very full.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, they will have their fill.
I am the most blessed priest in the world.
@integratedang About a year ago I finally realized both my husband and his brother don’t have internal monologues 🤯 He describes it as having abstract ideas, pictures in his mind. It makes sense with how big picture his mind works, and his level of analysis.
@prettytradmomma I have a friend who doesn’t do anime, she says she sees no good from it. I’m not necessarily inclined to fully agree, but tbh I’ve always just had a funny feeling about it too.
5yo: Dad, were you in World War 1?
@Ardoramdonua : Um, how long ago do you think WW1 was?
5yo: 100 years.
@Ardoramdonua : so you think I’m more than 100?
5yo: ….maybe.
@mrssockgoblin I’d still go to the church office and ask! Or make friends with a parishioner, I did that and got the code for a parish that’s not my home parish! And it’s been so beautiful when I go there and no one else is there!
I'm working on blueprints for the house @choosing_joy_ and I are building. Should we design a secret closet to hide our priest in when the inevitable purge occurs?

Please pray for the souls of my friend Jen and her husband Ryan, and for their 6 children. I can’t even imagine what those poor babies are going through.
I’ve placed so many books on hold at the library. Let’s see if it’s still motivated me that’s here when they’re available, or if historical fiction me, or fantasy me is back 🫠🙈
My dad died 3 years ago today from brain cancer.
It still feels surreal. Our immediate family was alone, in a strange place, and without proper care due to COVID shutdowns. He wasn't recognizable.
In your charity, please pray for the repose of his soul.
