I don’t feel too confident about my pick because both teams are so good anything could happen, but I like the Chiefs to win — final score: KC: 31, SF: 24

These two teams are so close that one big play could change the game. I see a chance of this happening in the return game. SF has looked vulnerable in kick/punt coverage, while KC has the best return man in the league. Watch for a big return to swing the game for KC

With SF on offense, the spot to watch is KC’s linebackers. SF’s zone blocking run and play-action concepts put a lot of horizontal pressure on the linebackers. It’s near-impossible to stay at home against the run while keeping an eye on George Kittle

Press coverage, especially with a physical corner like Sherman, can help slow down the play and allow the D-line to get pressure. Even with Sherman playing excellently, I’m not sure SF has enough secondary depth to handle KC’s pass attack. I don’t see the Chiefs held below 28

It’s a great Super Bowl matchup on both sides of the ball. When KC is on offense, I’m intrigued by how SF will play coverage. They usually rely on a Cover 3 base, but Mahomes is great against zone. If I’m SF, I’d want to mix in press man coverage against KC’s fast receivers.

Coin flip winner:
1. Score a TD
2. Kick a FG, then get a stop

Coin flip loser:
1. Get a stop, then score

This is fundamentally unfair. Both teams can win with a defensive stop + FG combo, but only one team had the initial TD option

The NFL needs to change its playoff rules so that the coin flip isn’t so important. Each team needs to get a chance with the ball.

Defensively, Buffalo’s D-line dominated early, but was ineffective at containing Watson once he started to run. And as it was most of the season, interior run defense was a problem

On offense, Buffalo started hot with a great script, but seemed to run out of plays late. Also, the Texans didn’t blitz much in the first half. Allen struggled against the blitz late in the game. Allen also continues to struggle making throws on-schedule from the pocket

The Bills had so many chances to win the game - a lack of second half adjustments hurt the team. After a hot start, Buffalo couldn’t produce much offense or get stops late
