Every time I bring up AI in conversation, I get the same responses: “The government will ban it,” or “It’s still sooo far off from happening anytime soon.”
It’s like people are collectively sticking their fingers in their ears, humming, “La la la, AI’s not real.”
Normalcy bias… is a hell of a drug.
For those who haven’t heard the term, normalcy bias is our brain’s way of convincing us that the future will look a lot like the past.
Even when all signs point to “absolutely not.”
It’s why people refuse to evacuate before a wildfire despite warnings. It’s why some of the smartest investors miss out on obvious tech like Apple and Tesla, or Uber.
90% of people treat AI like it’s a distant storm
Nope. it’s already here.
Whole industries are transforming faster than we can refresh our news feeds.
And that’s terrifying.
It’s not terrifying because AI is scary. AI is just the next tech revolution. It'll make us better smarter faster like software did 20 years ago.
But normalcy bias?
It’ll lull you into thinking you’re safe right up until the moment you’re not. And by then, the game’s already changed.
The craziest part is how widespread this is.
It’s not just your average person clinging to the comfort of “it won’t happen to me.” Entire sectors, governments, and even tech leaders are underestimating the speed and scale of AI’s impact. It's like we’re all playing this massive game of chicken, hoping someone else will pump the brakes first.
AI will not brake.
Now, I’m not saying we should all start panic-buying underground bunkers or hoarding canned beans.
But maybe, just maybe, we should start thinking about how to adapt. Whether it’s learning new skills, understanding how AI tools can amplify what we do, or just staying informed.
The goal should be to meet the change head-on—not to pretend it’s a decade away.
Because if we don’t? AI isn’t going to wait for us to catch up.
And when the dust settles, the people who embraced change, however uncomfortable, will be the ones leading the charge.
The rest? They’ll still be humming, “La la la,” wondering what went wrong.
So, yeah. Normalcy bias is a hell of a drug. But like any drug, the first step to kicking it is admitting you’re hooked.
BREAKING: Gautam Adani and 7 other executives criminally indicted in the U.S. over $250 million in alleged bribes.
The SEC has filed parallel charges in the “massive bribery scheme”.

The funny thing about the Adani bribery saga is that the Modi government can't order any investigation into the Adani Group.
If they do, MoShah knows it will expose their & BJP's business relations with Adanis and why they want Adani to control Indian public Infrastructures.
