I wrote this close to a year ago and just found it in my notes app, and I feel it more than ever so I thought id post it

I’ve been thinking for a while, the opposite of AI music maybe isnt human music. It’s making music.

The process is the magic. I think anyone whos been lucky enough to make music, or make anything, has been able to feel this in different ways since forever.

I think this is maybe why ive felt no pull whatsoever to even try it. I place so so so much of my identity in that process, and I haven’t found that to be a negative place to put it.

So I have really no desire to do less of that bit. Because that bit is kind of where I find myself most clearly

and it’s also my meditation, daily compass. Giving the process bit to a machine would be intrinsically contrary to what I love about the whole thing.

The clumsy dedicated tumbling towards an idea isss the thing we are most lucky to get to do. The hours and hours and years and years of endlessly trying to make the thing you wish could exist.

Theres lot of things im worried about AI threatening, but that will never be one.

Genuinely... what is going on at Sony. disaster after disaster, huge L after L. They were my favorite gaming company throughout the PS4 generation but genuinely, how do you lose EVERYONE this fast?
