Congratulations to Spain on becoming the champions of the world. It’s totally deserved, by far the best team at the 2026 World Cup.
As for Argentina, they got what they deserved. Nothing. An extremely unlikeable team fuelled by cheating.
🚨Paul Scholes on referee Stuart Attwell’s decision on Amad Diallo:
“Forget the Champions League — if this is the level of officiating in the EPL, then of course the league is falling behind. This doesn’t happen elsewhere.”
🚨Riio Ferdinand
“Refereeing decisions in the Premier League are getting worse day by day. Amad Diallo was brought down with both hands (clearly a foul) but no card or penalty was given. A few minutes later, Harry Maguire was sent off for a similar incident, and a penalty was awarded. This is unacceptable!”
The Premier League apologised to Man Utd after wrongly disallowing Martinez goal vs Burnley.
The ref and VAR today that denied Amad penalty was the same duo that denied Martinez clear goal vs Burnley.
Shambles. Same two costing us again. Four points that!
🚨 Wayne Rooney on the referees decision tonight:
Amad diallo was fouled but the ref ignored it. Maguire foul wasn’t as visible as amads but it was given straight red card and penalty. The premier league officials has been harsh on Manchester United this season and it’s getting ridiculous
“I can miss technically…but I hate to miss mentally”
Rafa Nadal
The contents in the video below displays an athlete who is willing to accept that he may have off days technically, but he hates, if not refuses, to have off days mentally.

Now this is hard to accomplish. Not least because ambitious competitors so badly want to win, but also because the brain and nervous system of a competitor have (probably) been primed to respond to the strike of the ball, the accuracy of a shot, the feeling of the stroke.
The strike of the ball. The accuracy of the shot. The feeling of the stroke!
And it is these subjective and objective responses that dip and wheel through the bodies of athletes. Brain and body connected…the human system is designed to judge the sensation of movement and the quality of movement outcome.
The strike of the ball. The accuracy of the shot. The feeling of the stroke!
When competitors’ feelings are off it’s so challenging for them to respond in a great mindset.
Because doubt can set in. Worry can emerge. Anxiety can fill the mind and tension can encase the body.
Doubt
Worry
Anxiety
Tension
All through…
The subjective sense of, and the objective appraisal of…
The strike of the ball. The accuracy of the shot. The feeling of the stroke!
And this is why ambitious athletes require mental frameworks for mental skills…
This is why athletes with ambition need to repeat the mantra “ I refuse to give in mentally. I keep the same mindset no matter what…”
And they need to practice their mental skills in every activity in every session every day…
Because doubt, worry, anxiety, and tension are sticky suckers that refuse unstick.
Nadal’s mindset is one to work on daily…
Rafa Nadal & Roger Federer were asked how they want to be remembered in a new campaign for Louis Vuitton
Rafa: “At the end what will make me feel proud and happy is when I leave this world, if the tournament directors, the people who work at the tournaments, staff, ATP, say good things about who I was on the tour, or who I am as a person more than a tennis player. Because as a tennis player, at the end, we have the titles, we have the achievements and that's how it is. I achieved more than what I ever dreamed of. So for me at the end, the legacy in terms of a human being, after achieving all the things that we achieved, for me is the most important thing.” ❤️
Roger: “I hope if I'm remembered not only as a tennis player, but as a person behind what I gave to the game and what I represented to the game, and it was less about all my Wimbledon victories or whatever it was, that would mean a lot to me. If I can be remembered more as the personality rather than just a player, that would be great. And if I was a good role model for kids, that would make me happy too… And it would be nice, like Rafa said, if the people are happy to see us again. Not like ‘oh no, that guy again,’” 😂
These two. 🥹
