As for Leach whom many are lamenting his loss, pretty obvious Judd was taking over the draft and so likely Leach sought a fresh start to go elsewhere to run the draft again. Prob others who were let go were in the same boat. Not looking to stay in a lesser role. Change is good.

Obviously sucks to see ppl lose jobs as many have within the Leafs staff. That being said, all those gone were part of only 2 series wins in 9 playoffs and their worst season in a decade. Yes not all their fault. Last 2 GMs and president played a bigger part of the overall mess.

But change was inevitable as was JC bringing his own folks and designing his own preferred FO structure. Prob had own analytics ppl so naturally change. Dev staff suffered under poor drafts from others but they couldn’t make lemonade out of lemons unfortunately. So out they go.

@FarmerRob17_ very possible. They could see the link with Blueger (from their vancouver days) and see something there as a reason to keep. But salary must go before they can add more. Rielly still seems to be the main option to leave.

Lots of opinions on the moves the Leafs made yesterday. They have a few needs to go IMO but they addressed a lot of what plagued them last year. I don't see as much redundancy. Cowan, Domi, Macelli and Robertson were imperfect fits altogether. They needed more versatility.

@FarmerRob17_ I hope they can add 1 offensive piece Rob, but i think it means subtraction as cap space needed. Might be 44, but then that means also a need on D. still some balls in the air!

Overall JC has managed to do well so far and a lot of these pieces fit what I think how Hiller wants to have them play. Strong, responsible on D, but open things up on offence. Speed will help that transition and they added that. And trust in G to protect them. Fun season ahead!

Lastly, Bob. I'm into it. So many hate it, but this is good. Belfour, Hasek played longer. Bob has the pedigree to do so too. Fitness freak. Workaholic. the break will do him well not playing since April. I see bounceback. Competitor. Prove them wrong attitude. Winner.
