‼️ A terrorist cell in Yemen used Claude to develop and test weapons, including guided and hypersonic missiles and a multi-stage ballistic missile with a stated range goal above 2,000 km.

They test-fired a guided rocket, and when the launch failed, they fed the data into Claude to find out why.

They used Claude to integrate an open-source autopilot onto a phone-class flight computer and and to perform flight simulation

Claude Code took the place of human engineers, with several instances working as a team: one writing guidance code, one researching, one reviewing.

Anthropic's safeguards blocked many of their requests, but not all. The cell hid what the software was for and split the work across sessions so no single chat gave away the plan.

Anthropic banned the accounts and says it has no evidence the cell fielded an operational weapon. But the cell had already built an offline weapons simulation toolkit that runs without Claude.

Stalin was a visionary in ways few people remember.

In 1952, he published Economic Problems of Socialism in the USSR - one of his final works and almost a blueprint for moving the Soviet Union from socialism toward communism.

And some of what he proposed sounds remarkably futuristic even today.

While much of the industrialized world was still organized around the eight-hour working day - with 40- and 48-hour weeks still part of the international debate - Stalin was already looking beyond both.

He proposed eventually reducing the Soviet working day first to six hours, then to just five. So people would have enough free time to educate themselves, develop their abilities and participate more fully in society.

And that wasn’t all. Stalin envisioned systematically raising living standards and at least doubling workers’ real wages.

A five-hour working day, twice the real income, more time for education, family, hobbies and life beyond work.

In 1952!

Stalin died the following year.
