VIDEO | "I am very happy that the Modi government has conferred the Classical Language status to the Pali and Prakrit languages. This announcement was awaited for many years. Both are very ancient languages, and therefore, granting them Classical Language status is a significant decision. I am very happy about this and I welcome the decision," says Jawaharlal Nehru University Professor C Upender Rao as the Union Cabinet on Thursday approved conferring of Classical Language status to Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, Assamese, and Bengali languages.
