🚨🗣️New: Luis Suárez reacts to Uruguay’s arrival in the United States for the World Cup, where the squad faced sniffer dogs and rigorous security checks:
“I’ve been in football a long time, and I’ve seen tournaments all over the world. But what we’re witnessing here with the USA hosting this World Cup is deeply concerning. Take the Uruguay team arriving — world-class players like Manuel Ugarte, standing there with arms folded, looking utterly bewildered as sniffer dogs go through their bags like they’re common criminals. That image says it all. These are ambassadors of the game, not suspects at the border.
This isn’t hospitality; it’s humiliation dressed up as security. You’ve got a Somali referee, one of Africa’s best, denied entry despite a valid visa — a man who dreamed of officiating at the pinnacle of his career, turned away at the airport. African and South American delegations facing extra screenings, visa chaos for fans and officials from qualified nations. This is the ‘land of the free’ rolling out the red carpet? It feels more like a fortress with razor wire.
The beautiful game deserves better than being turned into a political football or a paranoid checkpoint. FIFA chased the dollars — and there are billions to be made, no doubt — but they’ve sold the soul of the tournament to a host that treats global football stars and supporters like potential threats. Meanwhile, American taxpayers and host cities are left holding a bill running into hundreds of millions for security and logistics that FIFA largely pockets.
Football has always been about unity, passion, and bringing people together across borders. Right now, under this hosting, it’s being strangled by suspicion and overreach. The world is watching these scenes and cringing. If this continues, it risks leaving a bitter taste that lingers far longer than any on-pitch glory. We needed a celebration of the game — not a showcase of division. Something has to change.”
Roberto Firmino on Mohamed Salah’s farewell at Anfield and the end of their iconic trio yesterday:
🗣️ “Seeing Mo leave and looking back at everything we achieved together… it really hits different now.
Salah, Mane, and myself we weren’t just a front three, we were a problem for every defence in the Premier League and in Europe. Week after week, season after season, we played with understanding that didn’t need words.
We terrorised teams at Anfield, away from home, in Champions League nights… it felt like everything we touched turned into danger.
Now, standing here after Salah’s farewell yesterday, it feels like a chapter has truly closed. The best moments of my career were built with those two beside me.
We didn’t just win games… we changed how teams feared Liverpool.”
Some trios win matches… but ours made history feel normal.”
And what hurts the most is knowing moments like that don’t come back twice.”
Mo Salah gift his shirt to Mac Allister 📸
“Macca. Absolutely an honor one of the best and one of the funniest. I love you bro. I wish you all the best. Keep working hard.” 🥹❤️
We knew that one day Mohamed Salah would have to say goodbye, but we never imagined how painful it would be.
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in his last match after 9 years. He couldn’t hold back his tears when he was taken off. He knelt down and kissed the Anfield pitch one last time. Then he went to the bench, completely inconsolable.
After the match, he received a beautiful tribute where the entire squad, staff, and his family formed a guard of honor for him. Mohamed Salah’s face as he took each step, processing everything while Anfield cheered him on, was the moment he realized it wasn’t a dream and that the end had come.
The moment he truly broke down was when he approached the Liverpool fans with his daughters, and the whole of Anfield sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone” one last time. Mohamed Salah burst into tears 💔💔

Jermain Defoe on Mohamed Salah’s Premier League legacy:
🗣️ “I don’t think people truly appreciate what Salah has done to the Premier League. Every season it’s the same thing — goals, assists, records, defenders destroyed… and he still gets doubted somehow.
As a former striker, I can tell you Salah is a nightmare. You know what he’s going to do, you study him all week, and he still punishes you.
For me, he’s not just a Liverpool legend anymore, he’s one of the greatest players the Premier League has ever seen.
The scary part? He made greatness look normal.”

❤️ Mo Salah: “I cried a lot. More than my whole life. Very tough to leave a place like this. I’m not very emotional guy… but it’s very tricky… we did it and we bought the club to where it belongs”.
And suddenly there's no more opening week goals, no more golden boot runs, no more goals every week, no more Ballon D'OR shouts, Goodbye Salah thank you for changing our lives
Thiago Alcântara on Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson’s farewell yesterday:
🗣️ “It’s hard to even find the right words for Mo Salah and Andy Robertson. Playing alongside them, you don’t just see top players you see people who gave everything every single week.
Yesterday felt emotional because legends like them don’t come around often. The way they changed games, the way they made the impossible look normal… that stays in football history forever.
I’ve shared the pitch with many great players, but Salah and Robertson have that rare mentality where even in silence, you can feel their hunger.
If this really was goodbye, then football is losing two of its purest competitors. And I’m grateful I got to witness it close.”
Moments like this remind you football is more than goals it’s memories, emotions, and legacy.”
With the 25/26 season now behind us, we know it wasn’t the one we all hoped for, but we never stopped fighting. Thank you for your incredible support through every moment. We’ll learn, improve, and come back stronger next season.
And to you two absolute legends of the game…
3 seasons shared together, countless memories. Not just trophies and moments, but standards, leadership, and lessons that will stay forever. Thank you both for everything you gave to this club and community. Your legacy will always be part of LFC. ❤️

Mohamed Salah on Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool after his farewell:
🗣️ “I will always be grateful to Liverpool for changing my life, but I also need to thank Jürgen Klopp specially from my heart.
When I arrived, he believed in me completely.
He gave me confidence, freedom and the feeling that I could become one of the best players in the world.
Honestly, without Klopp, I don’t know if my career reaches these heights.
Together we created memories I could only dream about as a child Champions League nights, Premier League titles, records, unforgettable moments at Anfield.
But beyond football, he made me feel important as a human being.
That’s why this goodbye hurts so much.
Liverpool became my home and Klopp became one of the most important people in my career.
Everything I achieved here will always belong to this club, these fans and that manager who changed my life forever.”
Jürgen Klopp on his emotional conversation with Mohamed Salah before the decision to leave Liverpool after incredible years of consistency:
🗣️ "Before Mo made his final decision, we spoke for a long time. Not as manager and player… but as two people who went through incredible moments together.
I told him: ‘Whatever you decide, nobody can change your place in Liverpool history.’
After so many years of consistency at the highest level, it’s impossible not to feel emotional. Season after season, Mo carried expectations, pressure, and responsibility like it was normal.
You could see how emotional he was because Liverpool became more than just a club for him. It became part of his life, his family, his identity.
And honestly, there was pain in that conversation because deep down, neither of us truly wanted the story to end.
But football is life sometimes the hardest decisions come from knowing a chapter was beautiful enough to last forever.
Some players leave clubs… but some leave pieces of themselves behind forever.
