@MichelleSu3081@TheTadger@Inevitablewest Any chance you've got a source to back up that claim? Excuse me if I don't take the word of an anonymous American ran social media account on British politics.
@owenyorkstudios@Inevitablewest@JohnMappin Nothing. Similar petitions have had higher numbers in the past, into the millions. This just seems to have all the bots in a weird frenzy.
@purplepopuluxe @Inevitablewest No it's not. A similar petition for a GE when the tories were in went over 900k and the one against the brexit referendum had over 6M.
@PiersScummedia@GarethM79@NUFC1892MDS@theJeremyVine Looks like the woman has been the confrontational one here, getting out the car and in his face. Should the cyclist have punched her? Looks more threatening...
@garystarman66 @LuthurLadvarian@GarethM79@bananatransit@roadcc There is more than enough space to allow them to pass, they just need to wait until its safe to do so.
You wouldn't expect a tractor or a slower car to pull in at every lay-by just because a car shows up and is delayed by 10 seconds.
@paulschapman@Cycling_Bob@TalkTV@Iromg So when I do laps around Holyrood park and get overtaken by cars while doing over 20mph in a 20 zone, what do you expect the police to do? Since cars speed with impunity, what will a licence place on my bike do?
@Cycling_Bob@paulschapman@TalkTV@Iromg Lose track of what people want cyclists to do. Seem to simultaneously be too fast and dangerous, and too slow and in the way ๐คทโโ๏ธ.
@paulschapman@Cycling_Bob@TalkTV@Iromg I mean the article you posted doesn't support what you are saying.
Yes it has lower speed limits, but you can't be done for speeding. Reckless cycling yes, but not speeding.
How would a cyclist know their speed? They don't have speedos.
@ArabDas31313@RussellKane@TalkTV@Iromg But if they did that they might not get the answer they want ๐ฅฒ... Like the last time the government considered the concept.
@bennn435@alexjhurley@DaveTho09770663@TalkTV@Iromg How'd you come to that conclusion. The UK Government responded to this concept. "The Government has no plans to introduce any such requirements for cyclists".
@paulschapman@Cycling_Bob@TalkTV@Iromg They're not less, you're just cherry picking stats to make youself feel better. Why wouldn't people go on about cars. The stats irrefutable show cars to be the most dangerous to other road users and pedestrians.
Fix the biggest impact first, then look at lower risk issues.
@evans_jon26786 @Baizhijie@tony_eh@raymasseytweets@DailyMailUK@MailOnline There are speed limits for HGVs and buses. While they are inarguably more dangerous, the evidence is clear for cars posing a danger.
Your logic would suggest you'd be happy with all cars sticking to HGV restrictions then.
