The police watchdog has found that the Met may have unfairly arrested Graham Linehan because of his gender-critical beliefs.

Last September, the Irish comedian was arrested at Heathrow by five armed police officers, then detained and questioned. His blood pressure rose so dangerously high that he needed treatment at A&E.

His “crime”? Three gender-critical posts on X.

With support from the Free Speech Union, @Glinner sent the Met a pre-action letter arguing that his arrest was unlawful. The force apologised publicly and paid him £25,000 in compensation.

Graham also complained to the Met’s Director of Professional Standards about the way he was arrested and detained. The Met’s internal review described its handling of the case as “unacceptable”, but no officers were disciplined.

Now the Independent Office for Police Conduct has said the review “did not go far enough” and its findings were “not reasonable or proportionate”. It has ordered the Met to reinvestigate how Graham was treated, including whether he was treated unfairly because of his gender-critical views, which are protected under the Equality Act 2010.

This is a welcome development. The reinvestigation will examine whether political bias played a part in the Met’s treatment of Graham — and bring us one step closer to ensuring the police focus on policing our streets, not our tweets.

Today is the sixth anniversary of the murder of Samuel Paty, the history and geography teacher who was beheaded by an Islamist near his school in Conflates-Sainte-Honorine, outside of Paris.

He had shown students the Charlie Hebdo cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad during a lesson on freedom of expression, in which he emphasised that students could choose not to look at the cartoons if they were offended.

In the UK, the Batley Grammar school teacher is still in hiding due to threats to his life after he too showed students cartoons of Muhammad in a lesson about freedom of speech.

The Labour government's Islamophobia definition will make it even harder to talk about the brutal murder of Samuel Paty. At the Free Speech Union there has been a four fold increase in cases where people have been penalised for criticising Islam.

Just seen the footage from that Arriva bus stop in the UK. Immigrants on the bus fighting with knives, full-on chaotic scrap, innocent people scattering to avoid being hurt or drawn into the violence.

This isn’t some one-off anymore. Same story keeps cropping up on public transport, fights, knives, people not feeling safe just trying to get home. Drivers are dealing with it constantly.

And they still want us to chant “diversity is our strength.” Give me a break!!

Another day and another invader jailed for sex attacks on our people

The failed "asylum seeker" who arrived in the UK on a small boat has been jailed for trying to rape a woman in Hereford.

Mehmet Bulut was lurking near a subway in Hereford when he followed a woman and attacked her - with the terrifying ordeal in the middle of the night caught on CCTV.

At 4am on Sunday, August 2, Bulut removed some of the victim's clothing in the violent and sustained attack as he tried to rape her, before initially walking off.

But he then walked back to the victim and attacked her again, the victim was telling Bulut to "f*** off" and he replied "just sex, just sex".

When questioned, he said "If you bring her here, I will kiss her hands and feet and ask for forgiveness."
