That reminds me that MGS1 on Switch is quite unique. Due to Nintendo's strict policy against mentioning button names from other consoles, they had to edit the codec calls audio by using sentence mixing. On the other platforms, the audio remained unaltered.

Even when we look at how dark Fallout 3 and New Vegas could get, there's just no comparison to how messed up 1 and 2 were. Not to be a doomer, but 4 and 76 removed basically every molecule of edge and personality from this franchise, and I doubt we'll ever get it back.
