Week 2:
8/19
6 PM - Georgia vs James Madison
8 PM - South Carolina vs Clemson
10 PM - Arizona St vs Texas
8/22
12 PM - Wake Forest vs Old Dominion
2 PM - Nebraska vs Alabama
4 PM - Washington vs Montana
6 PM - Georgia vs Milwaukee
8 PM - UNC vs Michigan St
10 PM - BYU vs USC
As an example:
8/12
6 PM - Wake Forest vs LSU
8 PM - Wisconsin vs TCU
10 PM - USC vs Duke
8/15
12 PM - Virginia vs Liberty
2 PM - Minnesota vs Georgia
4 PM - Pepperdine vs USC
6 PM - Clemson vs Ohio State
8 PM - Wake Forest vs South Carolina
10 PM - Baylor vs Texas A&M
You could have three games on WED 8/12 & 8/19 starting at:
6 PM, 8 PM, 10 PM (EST)
And then on SAT 8/15 & 8/18 starting at:
12 PM, 2 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM, 8 PM, 10 PM (EST)
That could be a spotlight window of 18 big games to put on TV with no competition in the college sphere.
This is such a missed opportunity since NCAA Football doesn't start until a few weeks later.
For the first two weeks, NCAA WoSo should be reserving Wednesday and Saturday for JUST a set of marquee games that would be the only thing on the schedule those days.
OK, I'm going to have to go on an NCAA WoSo scheduling rant, because one particular change is driving me nuts.
Starting the season on a Wednesday with no greater plan is driving me nuts, especially since about 40% of the teams are still starting on that Thursday!

We are now at 53 schedules for the 2026 NCAA Women's Soccer season in the database.
So time for the first strength of schedule update of the offseason.
(845 games total in the schedule database, BTW)
Looks like another WoSo conference tournament is cutting the number of qualifiers for 2026, as the Mountain West Tournament will have just the top four teams qualify.
Kentucky got smoked in the WoSo May Portal.
Lost Poretto to Notre Dame, Hoytink and Strickland to FSU.
Would've been one of my big sleepers before May 1 hit.
Gabi Poretto to Notre Dame from Kentucky.
That's the last major piece of the high major transfer portal puzzle for the offseason barring some last minute grad transfers or coaching changes.
Another big opening night matchup in NCAA WoSo confirmed with USC hosting Duke.
Trojans then travel to play at Pepperdine and at BYU for a big three game stretch to open up 2026.
