@CenterPoint is getting a lot of heat for their slow recovery but where is the coverage of how @EntergyTX is handling restoration? I’ve notified Entergy everyday that there are trees on lines and transformers down and we haven’t even seen a single truck yet. @KHOU@abc13houston
I think about my Grandfather almost daily - I think about him a lot today.
Born in 1926 in rural Oklahoma. He grew up with 8 brothers and sisters in Amarillo, Texas.
They were dirt poor.
He saw more before he was 18 than I’ll ever see in my life.
His family made it through the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl.
At 12 he was struck by lightning roofing a house.
And he was held back a grade because his family had to quarantine for 3 months due to Typhoid Fever.
After his junior year of High School he was drafted into the War.
He was dropped into the Battle of the Bulge - the bloodiest campaign in World War II.
When he returned he enrolled at the University of Denver with the GI Bill.
He worked his ass off to better his family and change our family tree.
During his later years he became an avid golfer. He prided himself in putting.
He was influential in me playing golf and we created so many memories playing the greatest game on earth.
It was my dream to play D1 golf - after walking on at UNI - I was lucky enough to make the travel squad.
I still remember my first event like it was yesterday at the Kansas Invite. He was thrilled I was putting well.
“Keep the putter rolling” he kept yelling it at me.
He had incredible grit and work ethic. He sacrificed too much for me to not give it my all. I can’t fail - he worked too hard to ultimately provide me opportunities.
He always told me the military was the best thing that ever happened to him.
There are so many stories like him - it’s amazing.
Freedom isn’t free.
Happy 4th 🇺🇸
Last summer, I discovered the series 'Strapped' and was immediately fascinated by the direction of @DJPie and the interplay of @BigRandyNLU and @ngschuNLU. This feature is basically my ode to a show that is everything great about golf https://t.co/Phtcevyxel
For the first time in three decades, the U.S. has a new favorite dog breed, according to the American Kennel Club the French bulldog, the sturdy, push-faced, big-eared and distinctively droll pooch became the nation's top purebred dog last year.

*The* voice of soccer in America (and the best commentator of the sport in this country) has a chance to call his home country, Argentina, win the World Cup. I hope everyone watches on Telemundo and listens to Andrés Cantor - it could be a great moment in American soccer history.
