Aaron Byerly shares some Flocking information ⬇️
When did Starlink start doing this…
&
Do ya’ll find this strange?
Two sheriff’s deputies showed up at my house tonight for a “welfare check.” They told me my Subaru STARLINK had contacted them.
Normally I probably wouldnt think much of it, except I spent most of today filming Flock cameras around town, then made this Facebook post with pictures of the local cameras that started getting a decent amount of attention.
Maybe it’s genuinely just a weird coincidence.. but the timing has me wondering… 🤔

Ive been riding around Thomasville checking out these Flock cameras and found out there are 17 of them around town.
I know the argument. They read license plates, help find stolen cars, catch criminals, etc. And I’m not against any of that.
But I started looking into these things a little more and it made me wonder…
Is that really all they’re doing?
These cameras can keep track of when and where vehicles are spotted, and police can search that information later. There have even been cases of cops using them to track exes and people they had personal relationships with.
That kinda makes you think.
Who can see this information? How long is it kept? Can other departments get it? And what stops somebody from abusing it?
I’m not saying Flock cameras are automatically bad or that every cop is abusing them.
I just think 17 cameras tracking cars around a town like Thomasville is worth talking about.
Maybe they make us safer. Maybe they don’t.
But I don’t think “if you’re not doing anything wrong, you shouldn’t care” is a good enough answer when we’re talking about people being tracked.
