Interesting reading the comments on yesterdays video regarding the change in SBCs.
The first complaint seems to be that it's called "Squad Building CHALLENGE" and it will no longer be a challenge in the new format.
SBC's haven't been a challenge in 5+ years. Exchanging 11 common golds for an 80+ x5 isn't challenging. Exchangin 3x 85+ cards for a provisions pack isn't challenging. Submitting a 90 rated team with a TOTS/TOTS isn't a challenge either. Especially with web app extensions like FUTGenie, SBC's have never been less challenging, so what's the issue for a change here?
The second complaint I see is that this is apparently the first step to removing SBC's. I'm not sure how people have jumped to the conclusion that a change / update / improvement on some content in the game is a pathway to removing it - but even if it was, why is that inherently a bad thing? If the core concept and engagment with SBC's has died and can be replaced with something better, different and relevant to the moment - why wouldn't you want that?
For how much people cry and moan about wanting EA to change things to "fix the game" - I find it insane how much people cry and moan when EA actually do things to change the game.
Of course the (very fair) rebuttal here is that whatever EA do will be broken, imbalanced or frsutrating to engage with even if they do change it, but that's not a justifyable reason to do nothing - which if EA did do nothing, people would also complain about.
