We’ve had a number of questions over the last few weeks asking whether Chorley FC will be opening again on Christmas Day…

and after talking with the team at the @ChorleyFCCF, the answer became very clear.

Last year we heard from so many people who said that if we hadn’t opened our doors, they would have spent the day alone. That’s something we just couldn’t turn our backs on.

So yes, we’re opening again this Christmas Day, from noon until 4pm.

If you want somewhere to be, somewhere warm, friendly and full of a bit of Christmas spirit, you’ll be more than welcome at Victory Park. We’ll make sure you’ve got something to eat, a warm drink, and good company.

This day, December 7, 2020, marks the day we bid farewell to Doug Scott, the accomplished British climber. His notable achievements include ascending Everest in 1975 (new route), Kangchenjunga (new route), Nuptse (new route) in 1979, and Shisha Pangma (new route) in 1982, and scaling Broad Peak in 1983. Among his many feats, he participated in the first ascents of Changabang (6864 m) in 1974 and Baintha Brakk ("Ogre," 7285 m) in 1977. In 1995, he completed the Carstensz-version of the Seven Summits. He passed away at the age of 79.
