@ZachLowe_NBA I love you but Does Bill Simmons force you to begin every Knicks segment with “I’m gonna keep this short, but…”?
Feels like every time you’ve talked about them this playoffs you’ve had to “keep it short”
@ryenarussillo Oh but the 20 Celtics FTs in the third quarter are a joy to watch? Go drive around your boat, the Hornets aren’t on league pass anymore Ryen
Somehow it’s more aggravating to watch this “all in” Knicks team get pummeled by CLE / BOS than it was when they were the league doormat
Where did the grit and hustle go 😔
@BarstoolBigCat I was born in FL, raised in MD, and root for NY professional teams because my family grew up there.
I root for the Badgers as my college team too. Why?
Because my favorite podcaster makes me laugh every day, so I ride with him. Losers cares where you were born… keep doing u!
First Knicks season with genuine championship expectations in forever, and they haven’t been able to compete with top tier teams. I still have hope, but when you go all in like this, we shouldn’t be losing by 30 to the Thunder. The lack of depth and defensive prowess is glaring.
Real talk, what is it about this team that’s made it so hard for Knicks fans to embrace them?
This year just flat out feels less fun, the fans feel less connected. Despite a great record there is a general feeling of pessimism about this team’s abilities.
What is it?
Call me crazy but Josh Hart should be an all star and here’s why:
- 9th in NBA in FG% (only guard in the top 15)
- Top 30 in RPG, APG, SPG (Jokic is the only other player in the NBA to also be)
- 5th in +\- in the entire league (more than Tatum, Spida, Jokic)
He’s been a STUD
@Jason_T_19 @CSmittyNY Fair enough. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s a masterclass… but the man deserves some credit for not skipping a beat and executing a pretty solid Plan B after swinging and missing on Soto
@Jason_T_19 @CSmittyNY He’s a lefty with some pop. He should see some better numbers playing with the short porch
And he’s an above average defensive player which we are in desperate need of
@Jason_T_19 @CSmittyNY Last season was the best season of his career… no one is arguing against that
But the Yankees aren’t a Juan Soto away from a World Series… they just tried that.
So adding talent across the board for a combined cheaper price is a good approach imo 🤷
@Jason_T_19 @CSmittyNY Cody / Devin / Max combined WAR on average last 3 seasons = 7.7
Juan Soto average WAR last 3 seasons = 5.9
(FanGraphs)
I think it’s fair to assume the Yankees are getting at least similar (if not better) value from these three additions compared to what they’re losing in Soto
