The city of Saint Paul has officially determined the January 18 invasion of our church and the desecration of our worship to be a “peaceful protest.”
Here’s my question for Mayor Her:
So the exact kind of progressive Southern Baptist that the conservative resurgence defeated is who shaped James Talarico‘s religious outlook. This shouldn’t be surprising. And it’s a reminder why it is so important not to allow the efforts currently underway to dismantle the conservative resurgence to be successful.
Jim Valvano taught us to enjoy life and to cherish every moment.
As we continue this journey, we’re reminded that the Stanley Cup Final is about more than hockey. It’s about people, purpose, sacrifice, and appreciating the moments that bring us together.
If there is a SBC church that is operating outside of boundaries of the BF&M2K, then someone can send a notice to the Credentials Committee to investigate.
The BF&M2K was changed in 2023 to clarify this- Bart didn’t object to it. He’s firmly conservative. He thinks that a clarifying amendment is redundant because the same mechanism that kicked out Saddleback is still in place.
It seems to me like the reason the SBC began to release statistics on how many women are nominated as trustees was specifically so this data be used to create a narrative (a narrative that looks just like the feminist arguments in the broader culture) that we should have gender parity on our boards.
Notice when they started to be released. In 2022 under the presidency of @bartbarber.
The same Barber who has continually—first with the Law amendment and now with the Mohler amendment—worked to ensure that we will have no clarifying amendment that will definitively require SBC churches not to allow women pastors.
They are going to slow walk this compromise and tell you the entire way that there are other ways to address the issue at the same time that they continue to allow churches with women pastors to remain in our association.
Because that is always the progressive play. It’s just like when Obama assured everyone that he was against gay marriage until he had the political power to shift and admit that he was actually for gay marriage.
Something everyone who was paying attention to what he did rather than what he said, already knew.
@HonestYPTweets There’s no liberal drift. The SBC clarified its stance on women eldership in 2023. @WilliamWolfe is trying to cause a rift and he doesn’t know how the convention works.
What’s wrong about this is that @WilliamWolfe and @megbasham want their followers to believe that these men listed below are closet liberals and that’s bearing false witness.
After watching the public debate over the last week-plus, here are the main networks/people in the SBC who appear to be working against Dr. Mohler's Truth and Unity Amendment:
1) NAMB: Kevin Ezell/Trevin Wax
2) JD Greear/Todd Unzicker and their NC network
3) The Baptist Review: Griffin Gulledge, Jared Cornutt, Andrew Hebert, Bart Barber
H/T @megbasham for the proof on Unzicker here
