I need some assistance from @Support about regaining access to a company account which has been locked. I can’t fill in the forms because they are not applicable. I can’t DM you because I won’t subscribe to X Premium. Please DM me or provide an email address. Thank you.
@webkit In a standalone display mode you can get locked without any ability to return back to the previous page. It would be good if a minimal-ui mode actually was as described, supported the new PWA features but still had a discrete browser chrome for back, forward and reload.
@jensimmons The turning point for me was when, even Legacy Edge, Microsoft were able to implement browser push notifications in its desktop and mobile browsers. That was 5 years ago. I know it’s being experimented with now but it has taken so long. https://t.co/hVZGL8Cs43 Any ETA to share?
@webkit This is very good.
I think many of us would also like to hear a little bit more about your plans to support web push notifications.
There are experimental flags in iOS Beta and Safari TP. Should we expect to see this work concluded in macOS 12.2 and iOS 15.4? Or longer?
@Minishlink I won't critique Apple on how long it has taken but I'm also pleased it seems like we might get it in macOS 12.2 / iOS 15.4 rather than having to wait until macOS 13/iOS 16.
.@BingWMC your documented endpoint for sitemap pings is not accepting requests. It replies with a "410 Gone" HTTP error. Been like this for several wks. When are you planning to fix this? Pls DM for more info. Many customers have contacted you about this

@othermaciej@jonathandavis@ohunt@webkit To be fair, I routinely mention it on many WebKit announcements. At least this time someone has paid attention. But, point taken. More than happy to open a more constructive dialog with you regarding these APIs and our use case. Sounds like we shouldn’t expect it for iOS 13?
@jonathandavis@ohunt@webkit I can understand that now you’ve said it. Hand on heart, I’m saying stuff related to engagement solely in the context of PWAs. https://t.co/FV4FWKmDB2
@jonathandavis@ohunt@webkit I think it means what we mean. My definition of engagement covers both our examples. I think you’re looking too much into it. Is this the official Apple and WebKit stance? Is this why everyone else has gotten behind the feature and you haven’t? It just astounds me, honestly.
@jonathandavis@ohunt@webkit If a user posts a message on a website and specifically opts-in to receive a notification when there is a reply, how is that a) anti-user b) abusing engagement?
@jonathandavis@ohunt@webkit By engagement I am talking about the very reason push notifications exist in the first place. A utility by which users can be notified about things they opt to be notified about. I’m confused by the push back on this. What exactly do you think I am proposing to use push them for?
@spuriousbugfix@webkit Similar here. We develop @XenForo, a forum software platform. Over all of our customers we have millions of users. Approximately 40-60% of which can’t use crucial push functionality which is important to keep users engaged.
