My debut book is OUT TODAY!
'Such Great Heights: The Complete Cultural History of the Indie Rock Explosion' is about how indie rock changed the mainstream and the mainstream changed indie rock in the 21st century.
Buy it and let me know what you think: https://t.co/NTUo1h3Ad4
Ashley is correct. This confusion drives me nuts. In my book, I argue that the emergence of stomp-clap was a big factor in hipsters going all-in on pop, rap, R&B, electronic, basically getting as far away from a Mumford/Lumineers style as possible. https://t.co/NTUo1h3Ad4
look, i'm not humorless so i can get behind jokes looking back on the hipster era just as much as the next girl who spent too much money at american apparel. But people have GOT to stop associating that scene with stomp clap lumineers shit. it's inaccurate!
Shared some thoughts about Ratboys, Cardinals, Jump Source, Fire-Toolz, Feeble Little Horse, Bill Callahan, GENA, Daughn Gibson, April + VISTA, Winged Wheel, and Johnny Blue Skies for our midyear albums list

Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me.
In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.
Hoy traigo a @Indienauta 'La música indie. Una historia cultural’, de @chrisdeville. Lectura relevante, que apela a la generación de los blogs, el MP3 y los festis alternativos. De lo minoritario al mainstream para diluirse en manos del algoritmo y el $.

As someone who perpetually feels on the outside looking in re: electronic music, these monthly columns from @tddvsss are such a great guide to that world
