@CntrLeafsNation Loved Blackwell, he’s the exact kind of player they need on the fourth line. Throw in a centre with a bit of size and skill and that’s a huge upgrade over the vets

I think an easy way to improve the Leafs offence is to just revamp the entire fourth line with young, fast, hungry guys.

Throw in Robertson and whoever else has been producing in the minors/juniors and let them play the full season.

@APetrielli You’re confident that bringing in a defence-first coach that will likely hinder the offence is a clear improvement over the guy that just led the team to a franchise-best season? I’m not. I’d be very curious to see how he would do in a sim but in reality it’s a huge gamble.

@KajPeterLarsen I actually see a surprising amount of fans who are fine with this year’s loss, myself included, which is good to see. A lot of people just hold onto the bitterness of past years which was deserved at the time but not so much right now.

The Leafs just had a franchise record season and then took the 2x defending champions to a one-goal Game 7.

It would literally make no sense to fire the coach or GM. The roster could absolutely use some tinkering but you don’t fix something that isn’t broken.

@evanrender They’d be huge favourites and almost certainly win but it’s playoffs, who knows. If they played like they did against TB they would beat (or outplay) probably every team but 3, maybe 4.

Process is more important (read: repeatable) than result and the process was good.

@evanrender Fans and media place way too much emphasis on playoffs in general I think because there’s so much luck involved, and then everyone’s narrative about the entire SEASON is based on whether they won a single game or not. It’s actually kinda nonsensical if you think about it.

@evanrender I don’t really view it through the lens of comparing seasons. I see a team that took the champs as far as possible and essentially losing in a coin flip. If they get a lucky bounce (or better refs) in Game 7 the whole narrative changes, which is kinda dumb IMO.

First crazy offseason idea: move Tavares to LW or 3C and get a 2C that can keep up with Nylander.
