This was kinda my thought during the NY Liberty parade, which felt like we were celebrating the corporate sponsors more than the actual team
NYC is not a sports city. It hasnโt been for over 2 decades. Sporting events are filled with corporate transplants and have turned into corporate events. Barely any diehard fans left and those that are left are priced out of going to the games. Sports is an afterthought.
