NEW: Ontario’s Health Ministry spent $13.3M on advertising last year, new FOI records show.
That brings our tally of the Ford government's advertising spending to more than $90 million across five ministries.
The health minister's office says advertising remains an "important tool" for informing families about programs & initiatives.
Opposition says the government should be using that funding on life-saving treatments or relieving hospital pressures. https://t.co/ftZ2WczFQt
Paul Godfrey in sworn testimony states that in the run up to the 2025 elections, Ford's Chief of Staff said, "he would approve Keel Digital’s proposal for a new three-year agreement with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, but 'in the meantime, the Premier needed a favour from Postmedia'.
“The Premier wanted to make his case to voters for calling an early election … (and) to publish a letter to voters in all Ontario Postmedia newspapers before he officially called the election,” continued Paul Godfrey in his declaration.

🚨 Ford scandal of the day.
This one is huge.
Allegations in court documents state that Ford's Chief of Staff would give Rob Godfrey's company Keel Digital Solutions a taxpayer grant—if Rob could convince his father, Paul Godfrey, to run a Conservative op-ed in the National Post. Paul was then the CEO of the National Post.

Postmedia ex-CEO alleges Doug Ford’s office used ‘leverage’ over son’s company to get newspaper chain to publish pre-election letter https://t.co/YfvORZK6ws
Ford has underfunded our hospitals to the point that they've had to borrow $70 million from banks to keep operating.
Now they have to pay interest on that debt, leading to even more cuts.

🚨 BREAKING🚨
2 years after allegations were raised and after giving $2.4 billion OSAP dollars to private career colleges — the Ford government is now referring the matter to the OPP, alleging fraud.
A year ago, the Auditor General found that Ford's government “gave $126 million to questionable applicants who hired well-connected lobbyists — while rejecting others with stronger proposals."
Ford’s fix:
They now require applicants to disclose use of lobbyists.
Real solution:
The NDP is calling for a full investigation and the return of tax dollars that have been squandered.

Some private career colleges were defrauding OSAP.
Some students were completing "entire courses in one day."
"A few students couldn’t name their school or program."
Ford's response
✅Sue the offending colleges
❌Cut OSAP grants to download more debt on all students

Alberta separatists are running to Trump, offering our oil and water in exchange for American support to break up Canada.
A traitor to this country doesn’t have to wear a foreign flag. Sometimes they wave ours while selling out our future.
This is a national emergency.
Ford's scandal of the day:
David Piccini, then Ford's Minister of Labour, attended the Paris wedding of a lobbyist for Keel Digital Solutions.
Piccini then grants $7.5 million taxpayer dollars to KDS through the Skills Development Fund.
Now the Ford government is suing KDS for "defrauding the province"
➡️& KDS is going bankrupt
➡️& Ford has promoted Piccini to the Ministry of Infrastructure where he is in charge of billions of taxpayer dollars.

Ford's Minister of Education makes "no apologies" for spending taxpayer dollars on ads attacking teachers while increasing class sizes for elementary students and students with disabilities.

Ontario’s education minister tells me he makes “no apologies” for spending taxpayer dollars on government ads promoting his education agenda & plans to keep spending on campaigns — even though he doesn’t know how much they’ve cost so far or what they’ll cost in the future.
He also says he doesn’t know how much his appointed school supervisors have billed school boards.
Estimates recap here:
Ford spent $4 billion on private-for-profit health services.
They charge taxpayers more for the same service e.g. $1200 for cataract surgery vs $500 in a public hospital.
The result:
❌ wait times are up
❌ public hospitals cutting staff because of funding shortfall
If Ford squandered less on private-for-profit services, our public hospitals wouldn't be facing such drastic cuts.

The people told Ford he couldn't buy a private jet so now he's leasing them for his trips.
One of his ministers even said "the general needs to bring all his soldiers when it comes to this economic trade war."
What ever happened to respect for taxpayers?

Ford cut 215 nurses from Ontario hospitals this year.
❌15 registered nurses left Oakville Memorial Hospital due to overcrowding and safety issues
❌Hamilton Health Sciences plan to cut 413 jobs
Funding is not keeping up with rising costs so each year there are more staff cuts.
Ford is breaking the system in order to privatize it. Patients and staff are being sacrificed for his privatization goal.

Ford is defying legal orders from the Information and Privacy Commissioner to release documents related to the "multi-billion dollar government fund that pushed grants to Conservative donors."
In other provinces the Commissioner can take the government to court to force it to obey the law, but not in Ontario.
Ford changed the law to hide his own phone records and now he's defying the Freedom of Information laws he didn't eliminate.
"It’s a really boldly anti-democratic move."

Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) said that the plan announced in a memo will undermine services as the hospital system is "already buckling under the pressure of rising demand and insufficient staffing."

Federal Minister of Jobs Hajdu cites "crisis" as the reason for stripping workers rights and selling leases on our airports.
Neoliberalism is the ideology that workers rights should be stripped away and all public services and assets—airports, water and electrical utilities, schools and hospitals, should be given to private corporations so they can profit by selling our services back to us.
Of course no one would vote for this, so the standard excuse is to cite a "crisis" as the reason for the sell-off.

Ford is teeing up our water treatment utilities, schools and hospitals for sale.
Carney is teeing up our airports and seaports for sale.
We'll all be a lot poorer when we have to pay a profit margin for services we used to own and receive at cost.
It's another step in a neoliberalism revolution that included the Liberals selling Ontario Hydro and the Conservatives selling the 407.
