It’s always an honor to be asked to write for any magazine. Thanks to Ceri Jones at The Fly Fishing Journal for inviting me to write an article on urban fly fishing in Dubai, as well as to conduct a tried and tested review on the Mackenzie FX2 Atlas double-handed rods
Every method has its pluses and minuses, and the more methods you have in your arsenal, the more fish you will cover. This short video demonstrates the effectiveness of trout spey. When you have limited space this method proves very useful.

Spey casting lessons today. If you want to increase your catch rates, learning to Spey cast will definitely take you to another level. You can have the best fly box in the world, but if you can't put the fly in the zone, you won't catch fish.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been preparing Johnathon Walker for his upcoming saltwater trip to Cuba. Quick angle changes, the ability to deal with the wind, and accuracy are paramount when sight fishing for saltwater species. All boxes ticked, have a great trip J.
I am now accepting bookings for my Spey casting workshops in 2024. The courses are suitable for single-handed and double-handed rods, switch rods, and trout Spey. If you’re interested, please DM me for further details.

There where lots of Jacks showing on my last Pike session. Quite a few larger Pike were also chasing the fly, but there was also quite a few refusals. It was one of those sessions, but I managed to catch a couple of decent fish. Still, the pursuit for that 20lb fish continues
Pike look prehistoric, and when you take a deeper look at them, they exhibit fantastic colors and markings. What I love about pike is the way they smash through the water to get to the fly. In a word, exhilarating.
This week’s lessons have covered a wide range, from total beginners to individuals gearing up for destination fishing trips.
The season is fast approaching…….🐟🎣

I had a brief session on the Grayling. The issue was, they didn't seem to get the memo, but the trout must have intercepted it. Despite being out of season, they gate-crashed the party. It was a challenging session, but enjoyable.
