As the local City Councillor, I’ve formally refused to provide my consent to expedite a land exchange being demanded by the Ford government for Ontario Place.
Councillor @ausmalik makes a powerful speech at her first City Council meeting, moving a motion to protect affordable housing in Toronto and to stand up for local democracy.
Just voted for @BravoDavenport and @AlexisDawsonTO at the Davenport advanced polls. No lines, in-and-out in five minutes. Show your support for these amazing candidates now!
Excited to share personal news. Just registered to run for #Toronto city council in #DavenportTO Ward 9. Thanks for all the support & encouragement. Follow my campaign @BravoDavenport#TOpoli
Having worked at City Hall for 12 years now, I have seen first hand the difference of strong, progressive councillors can make. Nothing would be better for Davenport then to have @BravoDavenport represent us! https://t.co/RdwVwk8Wvf
My last tweet was from December 2, 2018. Unbeknownst to me at the time, 8 days later, my life would change forever. Now, 10 months beyond, Theo has made his press conference debut, representing his fellow babies in the fight for affordable child care.
Child care in Toronto is already the most unaffordable in the country. Doug Ford’s latest cuts make this worse. More than 700 low income subsidies at risk, at least a $15 million dollar cut annually (with more cuts to come). These cuts will hurt kids. They must be reversed.
It's hard to believe it's only been 8 days since the election. To all those that helped out, and I didn't get a chance to talk to, thank you so much for all your work! While the results were not what we wanted, I am still amazed by all our volunteers. #keesmaat4mayor
