Judi Rever’s statement reflects a familiar pattern: replacing evidence with sweeping labels.
Calling the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) a “criminal organisation” is not an argument — it is a political claim that requires context and proof. The RPF emerged during a period when Rwanda was facing mass atrocities, and its forces ended the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi while creating the foundations of a new state.
Rwanda, like any country, has faced serious debates over governance, civil liberties, accountability, and political space. Those issues deserve honest discussion. But reducing a complex history into a single accusation ignores the millions of Rwandans who rebuilt their country from devastation, the security improvements, economic transformation, poverty reduction, and institutional rebuilding recognised by international organisations.
A university event taking place in Australia does not prove one side “won” or another “lost.” It simply demonstrates that open debate exists. The same standard should apply to everyone: allow discussion, challenge ideas, and respect facts — not rewrite history through slogans.
Remembering victims should unite people around truth, not become a platform for political narratives that erase some victims while elevating others. #Kwibuka32

If you watch the Rwandan Basketball League, do you think @ferwabaRW has learned a thing or two from BAL during the past five times Kigali has hosted the playoffs??
This image says what a million words for the past 34 years cannot! I choose to interpret it as an apology and a request for forgiveness and relationship reset!
Our President has shown and will always show that the truth can and will prevail!

Today at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame met with President Mamadi Doumbouya of the Republic of Guinea, who is in Rwanda where he attended the opening of the Africa CEO Forum 2026.
The two Heads of State and their respective delegations exchanged on ways to continue strengthening the productive ties between the two countries, and discussed other mutual priorities, including economic transformation, trade, investment and good governance.
This afternoon on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, President Kagame met with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) President Álvaro Lario. They discussed ongoing cooperation between Rwanda and IFAD, particularly in advancing rural development, agricultural transformation, and resilience for smallholder farmers.
The discussions also explored opportunities to further strengthen collaboration in support of inclusive growth, market access, and private sector participation in agriculture.
