Looking for an accurate list of datacenter IP addresses? After 3+ years of inactivity, 'ipcat' has been updated with the latest published public IP ranges of major cloud providers. The list is available in CSV format, updated automatically daily. https://t.co/JdOFBzuam9
@podsights created Open Downloads (oDL) with goal of counting podcast downloads openly & transparently. Unfortunately no updates were ever made. But I have been updating oDL for use in my podcast tech. Now I'm releasing these updates back to the community. https://t.co/yGzpP7lM3u
So excited to see my article about finding and fixing a latent bug when using Node's 'child_process.spawn()' in the latest issue of Node.js Weekly. Thanks @Cooperpress for including it!
First blog post in a while... A tale about a bug that was always there, right from the beginning. Just waiting for the perfect time to rear its ugly head, like right before an important demo. #nodejs#debugging#ffmpeg

Using Amazon ECS with secrets management integration, but afraid to rotate credentials because your app will break? Use CloudWatch Events and Lambda to automatically update your containers when secrets change. #AWS#ECS#containers#CloudWatch#Lambda

When it comes to tech adoption, it's a long, long lifecycle. For containers, it’s 10+ years. And for cloud, it’s even longer (at re:Invent 2019, Andy Jassy said that cloud only got 3% of total IT spend, with 97% still going to on-prem).
I've been working with containers in production for 4+ years (and I was late to the Docker party). It's so easy to think everyone else is running their apps in containers. But I'm always surprised by the reality that container adoption is still in its early stages.
So... only 1 out of 5 orgs were running containers in production in 2019. And it's going to take another 3+ years to get that level up to 3 out of 5 orgs. In other words, there's still a lot of work/opportunity in the container space.
@_msw_ Thanks @_msw_ for re-post and clarifications. Blog post has been updated with corrections. So many references equate hypervisor and VMM as same thing. How about calling Firecracker a type 2 hypervisor?
@ph0zzy1 Wasm is definitely one to keep an eye on. No doubt it's got a home in the browser, but it's still very early days for WebAssembly server-side. Some interesting work pushing it in that direction, though (like from @secondstateinc).
Curious about the buzzwords being thrown around when talking the future of cloud-native applications? MicroVMs, unikernels, sandboxes. Here's a look at these promising technologies, which aim to combine the best of both virtual machines and containers. https://t.co/pjed70aT12
@monadic Thanks Alexis! Too much to cover in one post, so I didn’t detail all options for integrating microVMs with container runtimes. But did cover #WeaveIgnite / Firekube in our podcast: https://t.co/L4Qf0rbIEz
Technology is changing so rapidly. Our knowledge gained is so hard fought - it is only natural to rely on it dearly. But don't make the mistake of holding on too long - be prepared to "kill your darlings". https://t.co/bikok1tdXg #personaldevelopment#technology#growth
You know you _should_ have a secrets management solution for your cloud-native apps - BUT do you? Or is this on your "someday, maybe" list? See how easy it is to implement secrets management for a containerized application running on Amazon ECS. https://t.co/1mSYHovUJZ #ECS#AWS
Psst... can you keep a secret? New blog post outlines various approaches to secrets management and explores some of the most popular solutions out there. It concludes with some guidance on how to choose the right solution for your particular application.
