I get what they're going for here, but the media has a job to do, and I can tell you from experience it is damn hard to generate coverage for an OHL team these days.
The few reporters who do show up won't continue if it's not worth their time. Most are young and learning too.
Matt had a bad back during this interview. Allegedly. The tears may have been the result of the Leafs being on the golf course already. You be the judge.
On our latest show we *welcomed* back @ChrisHofley to the TCA studio for a couple pints and a discussion on the PR battles the #Sens have survived this year en route to the playoffs, the PWHL’s tension with the city of #Ottawa, the #REDBLACKS offseason & more.

Bringing a family member to his first @Senators / first NHL game tomorrow. He’s visiting from the UK. Solid bloke. His 🇨🇦 wife and family are Leafs fans but he has no committed allegiance. Looking for all types of suggestions to ensure leaves with zero doubts as a #Sens diehard.
Not answering if your leg is fully healed after 2 years is an answer in itself and verbatim out of the comms playbook. The PR liability aspect is a whole other conversation.
I was legitimately skeptical this would happen. I love the @TSN1200 gang, have worked with most of them at various points, so thrilled for them. Radio these days is a brutal business. This is a well-deserved vote of confidence.
Big win. Fingers crossed the folks that have the spare time in their lives to shit on mental health and chirp reporters they don’t like are finally getting the chance to exhale and get a good night’s sleep in. #Sens
lol. Between this and Lansdowne construction, this should be a proper shit show. I live in the neighbourhood but it would be a tough sell if I had to drive through it.
Terrible and sad decision by @AlgonquinColleg. Why would anyone enroll in any program there at this point? Would be hard to be confident that any program signed up for will not suffer the same fate as these 30.

Tonight at 6: Fatal apartment fire in North York, man in custody accused of stabbing multiple family members, another gold for Canada at winter games & live at spring training in Dunedin #BlueJays
At this point, this kind of rambling nonsense is expected. But come on. A constant, global embarrassment. Hard to imagine stepping foot in that country anytime soon. Or ever again.
Trump’s latest Canada target: the Gordie Howe bridge, which Canada paid for because the U.S. refused to split the cost. Now Trump is seeking half US ownership.
I miss our banter at @TD_Place, and when I would tell her she was late for a live hit that was still 5 minutes away. And when she would bring her dog to the stadium. Easily the best way to manipulate this PR guy. Just a cool career trajectory to watch in a tough business.
Even in the toughest weeks during during my @REDBLACKS life, @clahanna was a bright light. First time I met her in Sask she was in a knee brace (Re: ACL) and was still battling to cover two teams. Seeing her kill it covering the Sens and now at the Olympics is cool as hell.
A decade ago when we worked together @ottawasuncom, this would have been at least a full page, had so much detail, likely a follow-up the next day, so many stories in the newsroom…and it would have had a real byline: Doug Hempstead (@Ottawa_Traffic) https://t.co/3XX8oBRfqc
Spending New Year’s Eve getting my ass kicked by @Schreids@VanSan3000 & @chrishofley on the annual TCA Brew Marsh Awards show.
They do take brief breaks from pummeling me to discuss some of the best Canadian sports performances of 2025 along the way.
