Busy couple of days for our Board & members who were able to lend a hand to @worflags getting everything ready for tomorrow.
The work Worflags do - from planning to execution it’s hours & hours of effort & hard work, all from dedicated volunteers. Huge appreciation for what they do👏🏻🖤🤍 #NUFC
Trust us we’d love use them more often.
They would’ve been perfect for tonight given we only had about a two hour window to sort anything, but now we aren’t allowed to use the giant surfers for televised games, due to the camera pits behind each goal.

What a great result to keep the Mags Marching on and what anoter great display by Wor Flags to honour Kevin Keegan and not forgetting the rendition of Eddie Howes Black and White Army and wishing the gaffer a speedy recovery🖤🤍 @worflags @Nusc2023 @NUFC@ToonMouthTyne#NEWMUN
@KrisO1805@NUFCThreatLevel Lass in front of me went to the toilet and missed the first goal then her lad went when the second one went in. Told them to keep taking turns 😂
Okay... I've not posted much on this channel yet this season, but I had to say something after yesterday's match and reaction.
So... here it is:
A different decision by Isak, and a better attempt to save Palmer's effort, we win the game and nobody could say we didn't deserve it looking at the attached stats (from @sofascore). It's fine margins, and it's a cutting edge we're lacking. That is the only difference between a PL team that is in form, and a PL team that isn't.
If Chelsea *did* sit back or stop trying so hard, as some have suggested, and we'd scored on 80 then parked the bus, Chelsea would've only had themselves to blame... but that's not what happened at all. We had 2 big chances in the second half (going by SofaScore's definition of a big chance). Chelsea had 8 shots at our goal 2nd half, 7 of which were inside the box, none of which were considered by SofaScore to be 'big chances'.
To me, that sounds like they're trying to score... if they wanted to frustrate us and play conservatively, why would they be so wasteful with possession, against a beat-PSG-4-1-last-season side who are known for their relentless attacking press? If you look at the stats (attached) we've matched them in pretty much every aspect of the game, except that they've played dirty and been more wasteful in the final third than we have.
Chelsea were trying to make the game safe, not settle for 2-1. And they didn't manage it, because we defended well when they had the ball and made them shoot when they only had half-chances. Joelinton was outstanding, Tonali and Bruno perhaps lacking what we expect from them a bit (though the latter should've had a dangerous free kick awarded in the first half, and I fancy Schär to piledrive it in the top corner from there). ... but if you replace Cole Palmer with literally any other Premier League midfielder on current form, with that midfield 3 of ours, and we get something from that game. I'm not saying there aren't elements to our play and to our squad depth that don't need drastic improvement, but I can't call yesterday a bad performance at all, against one of the best teams in the league.
Squad depth is what's needed, the new-manager-bounce that got us into the Champions' League is over now and after rinsing through all that adrenaline only to be knocked out of the Champions' League by an atrocious decision, against one of the favourites, who we thumped 4-1 at St. James' Park, and who didn't even beat us with the penalty, to suffer the worst injury crisis in PL history further into that season, for Mandy and Mehrdad to go, Darren Eales' health (he is well liked by all the players... they will be devastated), Kieran Trippier's 'relations' off the pitch, and being told we've got to sell our best players if we ever expect to grow into our role as the richest club in the world... the fact that we're 2 big wins off 3rd place after 9 games already having played 3 of the big 6, and people saying Europe and/or the Champions' League is out the window... whereas if we were 6 points off the top with 9 games remaining we'd be thinking we could win the league...
I just don't understand how anyone would want to replace Howe at this point.
