@ScotRail the ticket inspector was leaving from Inverness at 3:44pm (Sat, May 3rd) to Glasgow Queen Street was super 👌
very friendly, happy and helpful
@johnlindquist I feel like I’m the worst developer so probably not a competitive feeling I’d have. Often humbled by the incredible work developers out there do and how much there is to know
Sometimes I think about spinning up a new local environment (virtual machine) per feature request to keep the context in a state I can switch back into quickly when between multiple tasks. It feels excessive though...
@robpalmer2@Zairex@CanadaHonk@acutmore@alistaiir Thanks for keeping the promise of showing me behind the scenes of the Bloomberg Terminal! I have so many questions! Hopeful to see you at another meet up. I'll try to make less of a flying visit for the next one :-)
@mattpocockuk In secrets.txt stored in the project folder and committed in git. Environment variables seems to have been the most common way for all companies I’ve worked at
@johnlindquist It’s Project Milo all over again. I thought it was going to be able to “look” around the room too based on the demo. It also took a few attempts to get it to understand I want it to act as a translator. On the other hand as a picture of things to come it’s also incredible
@mattpocockuk@robpalmer2 You convinced me Bloomberg have a super nice office worth seeing!😉 I don't make it down London way for many events but it definitely sounds like a great one, appreciate you highlighting it the other day!
