Creating wealth and Jobs: Mr. Kakoma has twice secured loans amounting to UGX 6,000,000 from the South Constituency Veterans SACCO through the Walibu Veterans Association under The Presidential Initiative on Wealth and Job Creation (Emyooga). He strategically allocated the funds to rejuvenate his fishponds and stock them with 2,440 fingerlings, each valued at UGX 500. In his current harvest, Mr. Kakoma has yielded 250 kilograms of catfish. With a market rate of at least UGX 15,000 per kilogram, he projects a minimum revenue of UGX 3,500,000 from this yield.
Beyond creating self-employment, Mr. Kakoma has generated permanent jobs for three youths, entrusted with responsibilities such as pond maintenance, security, and feeding. Additionally, he engages up to 15 more youths temporarily during harvest periods.
