Shout out to @SeattleMonorail for helping to honor @KingCountyMetro operator Shawn Yim today. The Blue train was parked on the guideway over our procession route and the horn was honked as we passed underneath. A gesture that was noticed by our coach full of transit operators.
@colinokeefe For the record Katie isn't just some writer, but one of the most active leftist organizers in the city and has years of work under her belt.
@Spoolses@Jessecooksfood You're all taking this incredibly literally. Read what I wrote. I said the driver should have just opened the door. I also said that it's really annoying when people don't ring the bell and yell "backdoor" at us.
@Jessecooksfood Bus drivers aren't mind readers and it's a challenging and stressful job enough without having to do guesswork of what riders are doing.
@Jessecooksfood There are lots of reasons why we don't always open the back door. If I see one person waiting at a stop where my front door is gonna line up and no one has rung the bell, I wouldn't automatically open the back doors either. The bell is there for a reason.
@oowm@KingCountyMetro I'd guess 16th and Pine since that's a new section of wire work now that the 12 turns down Pine St. The Pine St. wire only goes to 15th currently I believe.
@nick_field90 You live in a democracy where people are free to run for office and vote for who they want. Perhaps your candidate should have done a better job winning those votes. Nearly every other democracy is a multi party system where this whining would be ridiculed.
@katewillett I think there's a way to link the issues in a skilled way. Abortion is as much an economic issue for women and families as a "cultural" one. LGBT rights (not cultural acceptance) is about preventing economic and social discrimination.
