@gilesp Sounds like a lot of work - extra classes & their tests to write. I don't think I've often had big problems caused by wanting to change a collection type late in the day. "Never exposing mutable collections" seems like it might get you most of the benefits for less effort.
@matmannion And 99% of the remaining 1% that this doesn't solve, would be best done with a monolith written in Java or C#.
Kubernetes and microservices might be a good fit for the last 0.01%
@gilesp @pugnascotia OTOH, if your usage pattern is like mine you'll only reboot once a quarter or so (for OS patches). So it might not be that much of an issue...
@gilesp @pugnascotia AIUI, most bluetooth devices don't work at login if you have FileVault enabled (because the OS disk isn't decrypted yet). USB keyboards and monitors _ought_ to just work though. Weird.
@yatesco@chrisoldwood https://t.co/HmtNe80Lo3 ? I used this on a previous project and it "just worked"; I don't remember having to do anything to wait for it to start up
@yatesco@noelbaron@idiot_girl@bphogan The issue (I think) is not that "dogsbody" means something different, it's that you listed it as a pronoun, when it clearly isn't a pronoun - which makes it seem like you're *mocking* the idea of preferred pronouns.
@gilesp Commissions, you say? As a well known social media influencer; in exchange for one of your pieces, I am willing to extensively promote your work to my 14 followers.
@yatesco@chrisoldwood ...(The pBone, on the other hand, is a great bit of kit and perfectly serviceable for gigs where you're not too sensitive to tone quality. And it doesn't freeze on your face when carolling!)
