"You will generate billions of ads . . . one person at a time" > I don't know what's worse, the loss of #Creative jobs or the coming ad pestilence amplified by #AI https://t.co/CdvcEezwHt via @FT
@jerrymichalski I see your point... So not saying "no, you are the ones who do that" (which is happening) but rather fabricating motivations and goals outright, up front. Flamethrowing seems good for that. Like starting a flame war.
@jerrymichalski I like flamethrowing as it sounds like a weapon, but for me it doesn't fully capture that reflective nature of throwing the accusation back at the accuser.
@jerrymichalski Jerry, thinking about this since you posed the question of what to call it, and I'd like to propose: RubberGlueism. It's from the children's riposte "I'm rubber, you're glue, what you say to me bounces off and sticks to you"
In the Cambodian city of Poipet, many families who depended on cross-border trade with Thailand to earn a living are facing destitution as land crossings remain closed and Covid-19 stifles the economy.

Everybody talks about #China in #SEAsia, but let's not forget about #Japan. "Japan is also working to boost economic security ties with Southeast Asia as a whole, which it sees as key in its push for a "free and open Indo-Pacific." https://t.co/osq5SKCfoR #Vietnam#China

I know my philologist friends await the AP Style guide notes on COVID-19, such as "lock down" (verb) versus "lockdown" (noun, adj.), and front line (n.) vs front-line (adj.) -- so they made a special usage page: https://t.co/BBO1FVstWv
It’s going to hurt!!!
A thread on impact of COVID-19 (& EBA) on the #Cambodia economy.
The good news - long term fundamentals of the Cambodian economy are strong, & will benefit longer term from manufacturers looking to diversify their manufacturing base & supply chains. 1/
@USAmbCambodia My grandmother worked in those textile mills as a WW1 refugee from Greece; #Lowell an amazing and welcoming city. @LowellINHP is great; also check out Whistler House and Jack Kerouac Park while you're there.
@MovetoCambodia Seems fast! I see you moved to @Dreamhost; I've been using them to host Cambodia-related sites for many years. Best host I've ever used.
Listening to Dr Sok Siphana answer questions about China investment in #Cambodia at Chinese House #OBOR#BeltandRoad - thanks to moderator David Totten and @BritChamCam for organizing!
