Today, as part of #CarersWeek2019, I visited #Sunderland Carers Centre to see at first hand the amazing help staff offer local carers. It is crucial carers receive the support they require to ensure their own health and well-being. They are unsung #heroes who do marvellous work.

Some of our young Carers have become pen pals with isolated residents of a care home in Hetton. Yesterday they met each other for the first time and exchanged gifts!
