Carving is when you tilt your snowboard on edge and let it cut through the turn instead of skidding. A good carved turn will leave a pencil thin line in the snow showing the shape of the arc. Learning to carve turns is a great way to improve your riding.

After unloading at the top we saw another chair go by missing the exact same bolt and hanging at the same angle.

What is going on with Lift Maintenance??

The complete disregard for our safety was appalling.

@CopperMtn leading a clinic at Copper yesterday my group and I loaded a chair with this bolt missing. That bolt holds the entire rear of the seat and its support bar to the chair. The lift operators noticed and stopped us just outside the LCA, about 15' off the ground.

Lift maintenance was called to inspect, and the quote yelled up to us was "It should be alright."

The entire seat was disconnected on the right-hand side and hanging below the chairlift frame.

Easily the most unnerving chair ride I've ever had.
