Short Night prayerπ
Dear LORD,
We appreciate you for being reachable but impenetrable, Thanks for being available but uncontrollable.
As we go to sleep please bless our sleep with sweet dreams. Thank you because you've heard, for in JESUS MOST EXALTED NAME WE'VE PRAYED AMEN.
Fellow Christians,
We would like to publicly ask you to now stop listening to worldly songs.
But before we make such demands of you, we will attempt to answer the question we know you have:
"Is listening to secular songs a sin?"
The Bible may not directly say something definitive about it, but it sure gives clear-cut warnings on what we listen to.
Let's go back to Eden: humanity rebelled against God and fell into sin and death because Adam and Eve listened to another voice other than God's.
Was hearing the serpent utter those words sinful? No. But was doing what those words said the sin? Surely.
On the day of Pentecost, the Bible says the people were cut to the heart to repentance after LISTENING to Peter speak.
Again, what they listened to produced repentance in them. For Adam, what he listened to produced sin.
For the people in Jerusalem on Pentecost, what they listened to produced salvation.
So, a Christian listening to worldly songs may not be a sin technically, but a Christian listening to secular songs will sin. These songs are doing serious damage to your spirit and walk with God.
They are targeted to weigh you down on your walk with God and eventually make you sin.
The principles behind these songs are the three forms of sin:
- Lust of the eye: money, cars, materials.
- Lust of the flesh: naked women, drugs, alcohol.
- Pride of life: glorification of the artist (self).
Did you know these were the three forms of sin Satan used to make the first humans fall? Did you know he repeated the three types of sin when he tempted Christ?
- Stone to bread: lust of the flesh.
- Showing Him all the treasures of the world: lust of the eyes.
- Throwing Himself to be supernaturally caught by angels: pride of life.
These three sins were Satan's attempt to make Jesus, the last Adam and the Second Man, fail like the first Adam. But thank God He overcame.
These three sins are the principle behind all the secular songs you listen to. Why do you think Satan is doing that?
To cut you off from the life of God. And he is succeeding with many. Do you notice internet fraudsters all cherish trap music? It is a favored genre among them.
Music is a door to spirits; don't let Satan rule your life.
Stop listening to secular songs. Listen to Godly songs. There are many now! You cannot listen to them all! They are inexhaustible.
"But Spiricoco, secular songs aren't worldly songs."
Brethren, music should be functional for us Christians. That means we must listen to them because they do something for us:
Colossians 3:16:
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God."
"Let the word of Christ dwell richly in you... teach and admonish one another..."
We see the functional role of music for Christians: spiritual edification.
Please, listen to songs that edify you. Clear your streaming apps of these artists today. Start listening to spiritual songs, as a spiritual person.
May God bless you. Amen.
@lekan_olayinka1@KehindeArokoyu This post literally popped up whilst in the middle of something else, I didn't know when I stayed to read till the very end.
#God spoke and Kenny happened.
Happy birthday ejires.
I grew up with this simple mentality
"Nobody owes me anything"
Whatever you do for me, I will appreciate with every breath in me.
And
Whatever I've done for you it's not even in record again, holding on to it can create some unrealistic expectations.
So learn to live for you
No matter how in love you feel, make sure your head is working.
It sometimes takes a while to be able to recover from marital trauma.
Don't go through that route π
Marry with your future in mind, don't marry because you feel butterflies in your tummy for someone now(I didn't say you should overlook the need for butterflies) π.
Marriage is for a lifetime, be futuristic in your decision
Is this person worth my life, a good Dad or Mum?
A good leader or helper? A sensible person? Does he or she fear God or anyone,
Can he/she covers me when the need arise?
Can she/he raise godly and valuable children?
Even if I'm away for a while would I have peace of mind?
