I’ve struggled to understand why I’m feeling so 🫠 and I just realized that it’s academia. It keeps trying to strip me down while demanding all I am as I try to preserve myself, prove I belong, and that my research is worth investing in. I love what I do, but I’m tired af.

The amount of times I’ve heard and seen racalized students silenced in the academic space to then seeing yt students praised for parroting the thoughts, ideas, and works of racalized students, scholars, and community organizers…. Im tired.
I’m tired of hearing yt education researchers talking about EDIA especially without consulting or highlighting works of racalized researchers/students/families.

It literally didn’t click until now that making an initial mess and cleaning the data afterwards is okay - it’s literally what you do. It’s literally the research process. I wish they made this clearer 🙃
I wish someone told me how messy the coding and analyzing process is. I tried starting over. I ruined the observations I originally made and just went back to the first data base I made.
It's just difficult for me to see all these GTA school boards recognizing Tamil Genocide, bc I remember coming to school when I was 13 in May 2009, and having a teacher ask me to explain the entire history to her while also telling me that we had no reason to be on the highway.
